    Ok when I come home I will tell you a way to do it with dd command. Then you will get what you need!

      In the guide I followed to extract the rom dump there also was the dd method but I preferred an automated way with romdump

      what I learnt is: the easiest way is not always the useful way

      is the dd method similar to rkflashtool r ? I mean... Can I extract the same images?

      here is the guide i followed

        maybe I understood how to read the partition table, check if I'm wrong:
        in this post you have
        Code:
        [COLOR=#333333][I]dev:    size   erasesize  name
        [/I][/COLOR][I][COLOR=#333333]...
        [/COLOR][COLOR=#333333]mtd2: 01000000 00004000 "boot"
        [/COLOR][/I][COLOR=#333333][I]...[/I][/COLOR]
        so I know boot.img will be 0x1000000 -> 16.777.216 bytes
        16.777.216 : 1024 = 16.384 blocks
        this info is verified by:
        Code:
        major minor  #blocks  name
        ...
        31        2      16384 mtdblock2
        ...

        after having checked that mtdblock2 is the boot partition:
        Code:
        [I]...
        lrwxrwxrwx root     root              2013-10-27 15:39 boot -> /dev/block/mtdblock2
        ...[/I]
        is my reasoning correct?

          AW: Recovery with ROM dump

          I do it like this

          I login with ADB and type SU

          I get the # prompt.
          Then I just dump using the DD command in busybox and dump to SDcard.

          dd if=/dev/block/mtdblock1 of=/sdcard/kernel.img
          dd if=/dev/block/mtdblock8 of=/sdcard/system.img
          dd if=/dev/block/mtdblock2 of=/sdcard/boot.img
          dd if=/dev/block/mtdblock3 of=/sdcard/recovery.img

          Check your MTD blocks for the same number but most have been the same

            Thanks for your help.

            Anyway once I extract all the images from the working tablet I have to flash them in the dead one, but I can access that only via flash mode (screen turned off) and I would like to know if my reasoning about the partition table (offsets and sizes) is correct

              AW: Recovery with ROM dump

              Hello,

              All I need to know is it is a Dual Core or Quad Core.
              Then I can gave you a RK Flash Kit with them you can flash Your Tablet.
              Also Partion Table will included.

                    at the moment i extracted all the img from the working tablet with "rkflashtool r" but when i try to write them to the dead tablet with "rkflashtool w" command i always get (f.e. while writing kernel at offset 0x4000 with size 0x6000):

                    rkflashtool: info: writing flash memory at offset 0x00004020
                    rkflashtool: fatal: premature end-of-file reached.

                    I suppose i'm doing something wrong

                      Ok i managed to recognise the tablet with RKAndroidTool and i flashed all the parts from 0x00000000 to the end of the system partition (that should be 0x84000 + 0x15E000) using RK3188Loader V1.24.

                      Even in this case the tablet is not booting and I can only start it in flash mode (black screen and tablet recognised by windows).

                      I supposed the loader was making some troubles so I dumped the 0x0000 - 0x2000 partition too, in which there should be located the original bootloader, awfully.

                      I feel very stressed and sad about this.
                      Anyway I'm uploading my ROM dump made with romdump_v82b on a hosting site.

                        here is what i get when i write cat /proc/cmdline

                        console=ttyFIQ0 androidboot.console=ttyFIQ0 init=/init initrd=0x62000000,0x00130000 mtdparts=rk29xxnand:0x00002000@0x00002000misc),0x0 0006000@0x00004000(kernel),0x00008000@0x0000A000(b oot),0x00010000@0x00012000(recovery),0x00020000@0x 00022000(backup),0x00040000@0x00042000(cache),0x00 002000@0x00082000(kpanic),0x0015E000@0x0084000(sys tem),-@0x001E2000(userdata) bootver=2013-08-20#2.05 firmware_ver=4.1.1

                        so i suppose the whole problem is the bootloader. My tablet seems to have a v2.05 bootloader which can't be found on the web (latest found v1.24)

                          I think when you use a 2.07 Loader it will work. Let me see where to find.

                            don't waste your time anymore, i've found a v2.07 loader inside a Pipo U8 rom with KitKat.
                            Here is the ROM

                            and here is the Loader:

                            RK3188Loader(L)_V2.07.bin.zip

                            where can Loaders be found?

                                building rom from dump

                                Hello to everyone.I have a similar problem. I have a 10.1 inch allwinner a10 tablet which I backed up and I got the same 5 files like everyone else.I have read like 10 or more how to build a rom from these files.I have been reading here some interesting stuff like I have to find a rom close to mine.I Have looked in many places to find a suitable rom for my tablet but no luck.
                                Before I tried to flash a different rom I wrote some info from the tablet. it has 2 usb ports a mini HDMI and a TF slot. the name I got was M1005 it has 9 partitions 4.0.4 android and the software version 10F-P1-H1-HO2-BN40-20120621 and I backed up the modules also.I haven't got any other info about the tablet but feel free to ask I may remember something which I don't right now

                                Is there a way you can help me and make a rom so I can flash my tablet? An easy tutorial maybe a video tutorial. I.m really new with all this.

                                Any advice or help will be a gift.
                                Thanks in advance.
