is this the most stable ?

if I want to get the full android tv experience, like the nvidia shield, what else do I need / need to do ?

    i'm super pumped !

There are three on FreakTab you can try out, all with their own strengths. Mine (this one) tries to be as close to the pure Nexus Player experience as possible.

    Thanks mate,

I'm an old hand with flashing phones with roms from XDA

Given I'm new to flashing a Chinese android box, is there anything I need to know before I start

    Male to male USB cable?
Do I need to unlock the beelink G1 ultimate first before I flash it with the tools on your OP?

Nope, the bootloader ships unlocked on these devices. You don't even need the USB OTG cable to install the signed OTA updates.

But I need a male to male USB cable to flash the new rom right?

Only for the Amlogic burn packages (.img files) when flashed with USB Burning Tool. You can also flash them via SD card with BootcardMaker (although that's more temperamental), and the signed OTA updates (.zip files) are intended to be installed from the recovery partition (either OEM or TWRP).

Ok.so it seems.i may neee a little how-to, can you point me to one?

The problem with this ROM is that every time you start the Beelink GT1, bluetooth is activated by itself. Also if previously, the bluetooth is deactivated.

This is actually a feature for Bluetooth remote controls that is enabled by default for the Nexus Player...which is why it's enabled for this custom ROM. To disable it, just enter the following in the local terminal:

        su
        settings put global bluetooth_on false

(We really should make some better versions of these for FreakTab, though.)

Do I have to edit the "settings" file?

You could also do it by editing the SettingsProvider.apk with apktool. It's in /res/values/bools.xml. Not sure what you mean by "settings" file.

I'm not after a noob tutorial, just a readme outlining what one needs to do to get the Beelink in recovery mode

then possibly the order of what needs to be flashed ?

            What to during the flashing.?

Just a quick and dirty explanation ?

            Please?

Sorry. But I did not understand which file should be modified.
Can you easily list the steps to take?
In which file do I have to change the "global bluetooth" key, putting it on "false"?
If I could make a screenshot and post it, it would be much easier for me to understand it right away.
                  Thank you.
