well it is difficult giving recommendations on what tuner to get as I know some of these drivers will not work properly in android and sometimes the drivers source code needs altering slightly to make it work. however if someone wants to buy a tuner specifically for the android box I would recommend KWorld UB499-2T T09 as I have been running this tuner 24/7 for weeks and it is 100% stable, even watching one channel while recording another works really good. My K-R42 is never turned off now

I installed ubuntu 12.04 my laptop and tvheadent . S2 liplianin v39 works with perfect ganitech Hdstar. Sam can you prepare android driver s2 liplianin v39 for android ganitech hdstar. Otherwise tvheadent send sream video which format

I tested streaming perform minix. I setup hot spot minix and connect my laptop.
5 sd channels perfect streaming
2 hd channel streamin (sometime stutering)
1hd channel perfect sreaming (9mb/sn)

I found android minix dont play streaming HD channel. dont have this codech or cpu frequency not enought

all other problem signal locked and driver my usb dvb-s2 stick. local oscillator not sensitive. may be other skystar HD usb mey be good perform with tvheadend

HD channel problems only based cpu freguency. that not enought stock rom.
I loaded eerthing ok. but finless rom1.8 not copy system firmware modules and init.d. ES explorer said not enought space thus dont copy.

Ah OK doing a little research. Is there a stick that you can connect a cable TV input? This uses an antenna which limits the broadcasted channels here in the US.
