    Q7 Rk3188 Device - What Works & Help Please?

I have a device that looks like the image below and seems to have a lot of similarities as other devices : I will update this post with exact chipset info as I have it in another location. I wanted to contribute as after a LOT of digging and trying things, this forum has by far helped me the most!

    CHIPS INSIDE

    WLAN: RTL8188
    LAN: RTL8201F
    Bluetooth: Mediatek MT6622

Back of Device / Board Print all specify the "Q7" or "XT-Q7-V10". I have dug into these forums trying to match any print from the board or model and have found nothing so far.

    Getting Perfect Playback on 1080p & 720p MKV :

Full Flash - K-R42 Hybrid Firmware (HFW) 3.2 by lewy20041 Firmware

Flash Kernel Only From - K-R42 firmware by wasser 1.2.3

As far as I can tell the 1.2.3 kernel from wasser has the stutter video fix - 1.2.4 does not

With these wifi / bluetooth / Blue Button do not work but USB / Wired Do

    ----------------

I have also dumped the original firmware from the box including kernel, which if flashed has all the drivers to make everything work, however, I loose the video stutter fix. I tried the patch the kernel with the rkpatchomatic which gave no errors and was successful. When flashed it did not boot though. I tried a couple times to make sure and had the same result every time.

I was wondering if someone here could possibly patch the kernel or build a kernel with the patch if all chipsets were specified.

Thanks again for all the contributions from everyone who has helped me get my device working so good already!

I have the same box and have sent wasser my gpio and dmesg dumps to analyze. He should hopefully be including our drivers in his next update

      HI
We already get the stock firmware for this Q7 model, we will upload the stock firmware to cloud, and share with you guys.

and since this Q7 and MK918, T-R42, CS918 have the same case, i will write an instruction for how to tell the difference, and how to find the correct stock firmware.

i will post the information on our blog.

      stay tuned.

Finally decided to pop the hood on my box and can see "RK3188_Box_V2.0" on the board

Is that of any use to anyone?

            Thanks

Yeh, I'm not sure because they like to print so many different numbers on the boards. I would think matching up the 'look' and wifi / wired / bluetooth chip numbers would be best. It sounds like we have the same thing but all I have is printed numbers and decals that all say Q7 in some form or another.

Guys, can you upload your backup (stock) rom image for this device? There is no link to rom download in the relevant post on geekbuying blog (http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php...d-core-tv-box/). I would appreciate it very much. I have the same mainboard as hackadroid.

                            It's not great!

I'm holding out for a custom rom, hopefully not much longer

With proper wifi/bt drivers it's going to be sufficient for me at least for now. Some nice custom rom would be great though.
