Some have issues with the IR remote receiver (onboard IR eye) when there are IR signals in the air the box can do strange things.. try covering the front of your box if that is the case do the IR eye/led is covered and see what happens.
Otherwise i don't understand the way you explain it can you give some details?.
EDIT
Covering the IR sensor didn't solve the issue, the box still goes to sleep mode occasionally. I'll try setting option 'never sleep while charging' in developer settings as suggested by adfurgerson.
EDIT
Setting option 'never sleep while charging' in developer settings didn't change the misbehavior. Meanwhile I noticed that the tape used to cover the sensor doesn't block IR's completely, so I'll repeat the test with a thicker one.
EDIT
Ok, it's the IR sensor; when covered with a thick tape, the box is still awake after 3 days.
Does anyone have the schematics of the Minix IR circuitry?
EDIT
Using a cover made with the media from a 3.5" floppy disk, the IR sensor sensitivity was reduced to 10 cm from remote; still power events were received from the IR sensor. I guess that some other codes from my harmony remote (TV, receiver ...) are triggering the power-down events.
So I just edited rkxx-remotectl.kl to comment the POWER key code:
##key 116 POWER WAKE
Now I am not able to switch off the Minix box using the remote anymore but since my goal was to have it awake all the time (3 W continuous power consumption is acceptable) and now POWER key events are not occasionally generated anymore (through the the IR sensor), then I do not need also a Minix box power key on the remote!Last edited by zapto; 09 February 2014, 21:53.

What should I do to have DD 5.1 AC3 via S/PDIF?

( HDMI passtrough sound drops seems to be acceptable from what my test team reports, it is just occasional 0.5-1 sec sound loss once in a while )
Spdif no problems at all, it seams like the quality of sound is also better!

So last night I flashed the rom,but the same problem with all the other roms no AC3 via spdif DTS plays fine. Tried different kind of settings but without succes. I read in another forum that it mainly concerns older receivers but the strange thing is the same file with AC3 sound plays well via my old Xtreamer Prodigy.
Also read on a forum that boxee had the same problems but with a firmware upgrade they fixed this but what they changed I don't know. Think must be something with the bitrate.
The rom by the way is working pretty smooth and fast. Maybe one of the best I flashed on my Minix X7.
