Arnova 10G2 Finless Bob's "GingerComb" Custom ROM Version 2.0

I think what is happening with the desktop icons is this. Built in the launcher desktop are some default icons. When I debloated the ROM the icons dont show because the apps are gone BUT the spot they are on the screen for them is still kind of there. If you happen to put a new icon in that spot I think it may be trying to draw the missing icon / app.

The only way to fix this is to have someone take a part the launcher.apk and framework and remove them permanently. Not an easy task. Maybe I can get Miklaus to work on it later.

3G sticks do nto work on this kernel. I have been trying hard to get them to work. Maybe I can get them to work later but it is not looking promising. I may have to make another 2.1 with the older Arnova kernel for you 3G stick folks but realize that old kernel has other bugs!

I have made 2.1 with EVERYTHING in it I can find to support 3G sticks. Now if this does not work I think I found out why. I can give you a script to kick off the init process to get it to turn on the 3G stick. So you would run this script. But we shall see when it's ready and if you can figure out how to run the scripts I think it will solve this. Yes I know it is a pain to run a script every time but it maybe a fact of life with this kernel.

any one come across usb not working(connecting usb stick or memory card reader), before flash they did

I can insert USB sticks no problem - my only issue is I can't for the life of me find the option to unmount/safely eject the thing!

I know it can be a pain in the but I just shutdown to remove externals. Gingercomb is so quick at reboot that it is a minor annoyance. I'm sure Bob is working out the kinks.

Yes Petrus made that widget because honeycomb does not seem to have a facility to unmount the USB memory stick! Seems odd they would leave that out honestly.
