Beyond XBMC was not smooth for 1080p but local 1080p videos were smooth with MX Player.
If I'm not mistaking Beyond XBMC doesn't support hardware video decoding on Kit Kat.
Why don't you try the official XBMC Gotham?
It's finally out of beta/rc stage, they've released the stable build this week.
I think there is a problem with VMAC source. It seems to mess up the PLL clock
For my K-R42 after loading the video is practically invisible, welcome screen appears for a peroid of second and then disappears and after in its only black screen - and loops.

Thanks for the feedback. For now use 4.1 for VMAC support

Infin1ty had a really good question that maybe you can anwser or know of a path to try and add to builds???
The Video options for these releases is limited to set few, my old minix box has about 12 different settings including different htz settings of 60,50,40,24 ect and these build have no options for those.
The question is it possible to add these options (more always better )and may solve alot of no video issues for some. Or is it limiitations in the new software that does not allow this?

I was able to test out this kernel_v4072_TVBOX which you referred above. Thanks a bunch! This seems to be the most compatible kernel with CS968M v4.
Here are my observations:
1. Now solid blue power LED (same as stock)
2. No reboots, very stable
3. USB slot near OTG works
4. Ethernet works, no Wifi/BT
5. Antutu scores were as below for 5 tests that I did (some after cleaning/moving apps to SD card)
16500, 17340, 18067, 17816, 17952
So better than my stock score of 16300+.
One thing I noticed is that Antutu still shows CPU as 1.4Ghzx4, so not sure how to interpret this. Would you need DMESG to see what is going on here?
Unfortunately, I could not grab a DMESG today (cause my wife got too annoyed with me sitting in front of it .)

I think your problem is not with Beyond XBMC - but with the speed limit of 1.4GHZ. At 1.4GHZ - I couldn't get smooth playback of streaming 1080P. But that was completely solved with D33's previous 1.6GHZ kernels.
If you read D33's recent comments, he made a mistake with this current release and will clock the next update at 1.6GHZ.
Based on my experience, that will allow BeyondXBMC to work smoothly. I don't think Gotham will present any improvement at 1.4GHZ, but feel free to report back if I'm wrong.
