There is a new polaroid at big lots for 89.99. So far the only differences i see is the lack of tv out, the packaging and the front facing camera. It has ICS and liquids market fix worked just fine so market works just fine. The camera is typical for a lower end tablet, functional but grainy. I will do some more testing later for battery life ect...

*viewing angle is virtually the same as 701c
*netflix completed a 45 minute tv episode with no stutters. Stopped and started several times no issues.
    *same 5 point capacitive screen
*a little lighter and thinner then 701c
*the buttons are on the side. power and volume rocker.
*home button on the front like the ipad.
*battery life appears to be the same. watched 45 minute episode battery at 73%.

Hmm...I might have to check that out. I'm assuming the camera is decent enough for use in scanning QR codes?

So it's still the Allwinner A10?
Still 1Ghz with the same memory and storage specs?

I might have to look into grabbing one....so then I can want the 703C when it comes out 3 weeks after buying the 702C

Any chance you can post some pics?

Sounds like the one shown on the polaroid site and sold by Target as the 703c.

Mine says 702c on the back but yes that is what it looks like except mine is black. I see that target is more expensive at 129.99.

Yeah I saw the white one listed on the Polaroid site long ago...but back then there was no detailed specs and no model numbers:

I definitely didn't think of it as a relative of the 701C.

I sort of like the look of the 702C and 703C. Looks a little less like a brick than the 701's!

I do not have a camera so i used my logitech web camera so the photos are grainy but you can get he idea, and yes big lots now sells a zip case with screen protector and stylus for 10.00. My profile picture was taken by the camera to show the quality.

Actually I prefer the look and feel of the 701C. I don't think it looks like a brick at all, and I like the non-slip texture of the black plastic case.

                  702c issue

I did run into an issue. The G sensor does not work in temple run. I am not sure what the issue is because the screen does rotate correctly on the home screen. I tried both the default and the special coordinate system with no luck. I bring this up because on both the 701i and the 701c it runs fine. If anyone has any ideas i am all ears.

Anyone know if the 701 ROMs/ hacks will work with this guy?

                      Seems nice so far

Hello, new user to the forums here. I bought the Nextbook that Big Lots had on sale last week. It was so/so, but really wanted a capacitive screen. Well, it looks like the 702C is going on sale this coming week for $89.99. I checked my local store and they already had them in (locked up in back) and they let me do the exchange. Looking forward to some of the info and hacks you guys come up with for this thing. So far I'm much happier than with the Nextbook.

How is the wireless working for you, rc1? I'm considering getting the 702c but allegedly the signal drops were pretty bad on the 701i so I'm trying to decide between hunting for a 701c (which got rave reviews) or just springing for the new one.

I have no wireless issues here at work with it. I will try it at home, but I suspect that it will be just fine. I've been downloading stuff all day with it.

Thanks to the recommendations in this thread, I've happily made the switch to a Polaroid 702C and am loving the purchase. It seems to be a direct descendant of the 701C and NOT the 701I. Unfortunately, my local store only had white (I'm a black gadget junkie), but the everything else about the tablet has me thrilled. Good battery life, no wireless problems, etc.
