Sometime today, I will put together a new ROM with this KitKat firmware. Don't worry about it being the Chinese version. I always make English the default language and remove extra Chinese apps.
Stay tuned for a new RileyROM.Randy

Don't worry for chinese language in T9 rom. On first boot it defaults to english and starts language choice wizard.
I upgraded today my T9 to kitkat. Rom is fluid and all main apps work well, including Maps and Youtube that had severe bugs in previous firmware.
There are only two or three chinese apps, so very few bloatware.
I'm sure that Riley will make a good optimized ROM for us.

unable to add IMEI
Hi,
I backed up my IMEI and upgraded to 4.4.2, it then says no IMEI so using mobileuncle I reflashed my IMEI back to my T9 but then it says "No Service" and I lose the 3g indication at the top of the screen and in setting the sim card option is greyed out.
if I try to make a call it shows the message "please turn off flight mode", but it is off?
So I downgraded back to 4.2.2 and again it says no IMEI, I then flash my IMEI using the same dump as before and it all works again!
So I tried again wit 4.4.2 but the same thing happens.
Mobile uncle does not show the Md5 string when flashing in 4.4.2 but it does show the string in 4.2.2
any help on what I need to do or what I am doing wrong would be great..

copy your nvram.bin file from your ROM dump into the KitKat ROM and include it in your flash. See if it works then.Randy

FW Upgrade
I spend the half Saturday trying to upgrade to new RileyROM v1.2.
Reading all instructions in the RileyROM v1.2 thread and this first.
I did back up my IMEI with mobile uncle and also with MtkDroidTools 2.5.3 and write my IMEI on a paper!
Also I backed up all programs with Titanium Backup.
Flashing was successful but I did not get any choices to wipe factory reset.
Booting up first time it looked normal but it took very long time until my T9 recognized phone network (10 min).
Connecting thru WiFi I started to install apps including Titanium Backup.
Titanium refused to install my backup.
Super SU wanted an upgrade and after upgrade and reboot my phone network was missing.
I tried to install my backed up IMEI with mobile uncle without success.
Now I was not so happy so I tried with MtkDroidTools 2.5.3 and realized that my IMEI was absent.
Using MtkDroidTools 2.5.3 i filled in manually my saved IMEI and rebooted my T9.
Now the mobile network was working and stable however my titanium backup did not work so I tried to Re Root with root genius and replaced SuperSU with "King user" Now Titanium and other programs like Lucky patcher was working.
My T9 is now working perfectly and also has Swedish language.
I am happy.

I am now back on 4.2.2 which is working fine using mobile network to post this. I will take a back up now and see what happens.

@dw: Have you tried manually putting it into /system/priv-app instead of just /system? This apparently works for some people in 4.4.2. Otherwise you might try posting in the XDA thread, someone might have an answer.
Personally I can't live without V4A, and I'm struggling to see any advantage in updating to 4.4.2 at the moment, given the amount of messing around involved.
It would also get rid of a lot of complexity if a CWM/TWRP update zip was available, so it would be possible to eliminate the need for a PC when updating.Just download it to the SD card, boot into recovery and install, and change it back just as easily.
Given that everything I want works well at the moment, I'm sticking with the software that came with the tablet. It's not even the latest version of 4.2.2, but it works.
The only thing I'd really like to change would be to lower the CPU idle speed to improve battery performance, and maybe the option to set the highest clock speed to 2GHz, which is the advertised speed of the processor (rather than the 1.6GHz it's set for now), since there don't appear to be any overheating problems.

@ytheleus: thanks for your hint. Unfortunately nothing seem change. Tried to put .apk in system/priv-app then reinstalled it... but it continues asking to install driver.
However, for other points of view, I'm satisfied of this upgrade. Youtube and Maps work well, overall performance seem a little more fluid and tab is ready for newer apps.
Regarding upgrading procedure, I think it's straightforward and even faster than a Nandroid install.

BINGO! Viper4Android WORKS!
I re-checked, forgot a line in audio_effect.conf file!
Instructions for who is interested in V4A:
-Download latest Viper4Android apk file (2.3.3.0 at the moment I'm writing) on you PC.
-Rename apk in zip, then open file with zip viewer and extract "libv4a_fx_jb_NEON_HQ.so" file.
-Push both files in sdcard of T9.
-With a file manager with root capabilities (like ES file explorer) copy libv4a_fx_jb_NEON_HQ.so in /system/lib/soundfx/ .
-Install .apk file in usual way, then when prompted for driver install, choose "Super audio quality". Don't reboot T9 for the moment.
-Now with a text editor you must edit "audio_effects.conf" file located in system/etc adding these lines:
Code:libraries { v4a_fx { path /system/lib/soundfx/libv4a_fx_jb_NEON_HQ.so } effects { v4a_standard_fx { library v4a_fx uuid 41d3c987-e6cf-11e3-a88a-11aba5d5c51b }
I advice to make a copy of audio_effects.conf original file, in case of troubles.
-Reboot T9.
After a reboot of the device, you'll find a "Viper4Android" menu in effects section of your audio player app (or you can just open main Viper app to make your settings).

one thing I did notice with mtk droid tools was that when I backed up my NVram the last number of my IMEI was different so corrected this before I saved.
