Flash from microsd

Hi

is there any way of flashing this devices from de microSd card?
i know that you can boot to maintenance and it has that option, but doesn't recognize the file.

it's a shame that it can not put the user in google or market.
I'll try the other custom rom I've seen for q7, this was very fluid :-(

1080p is no use

Hi,

Got this box for 1080p. The place I got it from said it was 1080p, I did't release until I got it that it was just upscaled 720p. Anyway, found these threads and leaned that you cam put a 1080p kernel on, to get true 1080p.

Results of XBMC (all I'm bothered about);

Note: Live TV comes from TvHeadHead. Both SD and HD.

1. Less than 1080p video. Seems to work ok, don't have much that is not 1080p, so don't care.
2. SD TV. Works fine. No problems.
3. 1080p MKV's. None of these play right at all. Some start to play ok, but begin to miss frames, stutter, and sounds slips out of sync. Very quickly become unwatchable.
4. HD TV. Fails too, worse than MKV's. The XBMC status page does not even show "1080" when watching.

Audio;

All the audio on my MKV's is mostly DTS as my amp handles this. However, DTS passthough does not work. I have Rockclif SPDIF Passthrough set in the android side and all the DTS amp selected in XBMC and all the XBMC passthrough options set. However, the DTS indicator never shows on the amplifier. The volume key works in XBMC too, a sure sign passthrough is not working.

Great work my the firmware and kenel guys, so thanks to you all. But is this box just not up to the job of doing full 1080p faultlessly?

Is there anthing else I can do before I give up?

Normaly lewy20041 use it at his roms but (if it is 4.2.2 (JB)) maybe you need a patches libmedia.so from stafstrom. You can download it from

just extract the libmedia.so from zip file .... rename the origninal at /system/lib and copy the new one to /system/lib (I think you have to use ES Explorer) .... then restart your box.

I actaully tried the suggested version of beyondXBMC and that has made a big difference, most seem to play fine now. need to test more, but looking very good so far.

Once question though, is there a Gothem version? I use the same config fro all my xbmc devices, using the advancedsetting.xml file and they are all on 13.1 now... but this is 12.4, so can't point it at the same location.

I would be good if whatever magic was in th beyond version could be rolled back into core gothem xbmc?? Who knows about this?

Summary

My objective: Full 1080p XBMC client

Using Beyond XBMC. Stock XBMC 12 & 13.1 dont't work. lots of issues with 1080p. Not workable. Current Beyond is only good version.

Summary: Best effort so far 90% there.

Video:

All video plays fine, no lags. Both HD TV from TVHeadend and 1080p MKV's.

Audio:

DTS passthrough works perfectly.


Problems:

1. De-interlacing options do not work at all. Spoiling all TV currently, needs fixed.

2. Once you get rid of the command bar in android, can't see how to get it back?


If deinterlacing worked when i turned it on in xbmc, this would be very near perfect.

Great .. your rom is working great for me on my Q7...i was just wondering is it possible to make it support multi window like running two apps or more near each other ?

Installed Lewy20041, works great, also installed stock apps from that file , but the RKexplorer no longer working?
Cannot read my internal sd card, nor connect to my laptop wirelessly trough network, any one else with similar problem?

there will be script for static mac in init.d folder.
just a permition change and you should be good.
