Setup wifi & went to Play store. Got further than last time. Was able to put username & pword in, looked like it was doing it but then force closes again & again.

You need to EraseIDB and reflash the entire ROM not just boot.img.
If it unzipped fine then you do not have a bad download! No need to download it again.

Also I repeat! DO NOT try to use the system on first boot to the desktop! It will be messed up.
YOU MUST reboot once after reaching the desktop. On next boot up you will be at the lock screen NOT the desktop like the first boot up. This is super important!

Let me explain why first boot up does not work. This is the reason Arnova took out any form of lockscreen! The kernel is not expecting the lock screen and it is trying to run the Arnova startup wizard. That does not exist in this ROM. So the screen and other things are NOT finished getting setup in /data or the dalvic-cache! This is why you must reboot ONCE after first boot up after flashing the ROM. One this is done, it will never be a problem again.

Did all that first time round mate. Was a no go.

Re-downloaded, erased IDB, etc & now all ok on the Play front. Strange but so far so good.

Will keep testing. Still got the battery ? but god knows if this can even be solved as you said.

I'll get onto the App injector now & take a look how we go with chainfire 3D, A Birds, etc and report back any issues.

Not sure why you had the problem the first go.

Just also understand this. On first boot the system is building itself. You have to wait until it stops showing messages at the bottom. If you reboot too soon, it can screw up the file system as it was in the middle of writing files. On next boot up you will have all kinds of problems if the file system got hosed.

So on first boot, WAIT at least 2 minutes for the desktop to settle down and all messages stop. Then reboot.

I will update the readme to reflect this fact.

Should work now. I was in the middle of updating the download to BETA TEST 2 which fixes the first reported problems.

I know you're doing so much but i'm just curious - why would the kernel be different for the 7g2 than the 9's or 10's in relation to the battery monitor? It just seems weird to me

As for why on the battery, hardware difference would be the main reason! The battery sensing hardware could be very different and thus the battery monitor isnt working. But I would like to debug this. It maybe a lib file I need from the old Arnova files, etc. So I may be able to fix this.

Can you describe exactly what the problem is? Maybe a picture? I have never seen the battery icon show a ? mark over it. On honeycomb when you clck down there you get a pop up and some battery info. What does that show?

battery indicator has always worked. Just not with the honeycomb looks it's just an indicator with a little white question mark instead of the green color. There is a percentage next to it but it only updates after a reboot. hope this helps

On another note - Angry Birds not working through App injector - just fails. Will try with Chainfire & feedback

Edit - AB (and space) both work if downloaded through play. Guess there's a little issue with the injector. Same thing with Maps & Google Earth i've found. Just so you know

OK guys....

using my 10G2 kernel I am doing some extra testing myself.

One thing I found for sure. If you reboot too soon after first boot up, it CAN hose the file system. It just happend to me! I had to reflash the ROM to fix it. For me it rebooted and all kinds of force close issues.

So please wait several minutes after first boot up to the desktop before rebooting!

If it gets hosed. Just go into CWM recovery. Select Mounts and Storage. Format the data and cache. Then back out and slect reboot boot system.


The Battery.... The battery icon works fine using my 10G2 kernel and the 7G2 system. So this is something to do with 7G2 and the kernel. I will see if I can find the LIB file related to this but it is not going to be easy.

Do any of you know how to use ADB? If so to save you from flashing TEST ROMS for the battery, we can try pushing some files. Let me know if someone has this knowledge.

bay1902. I bet the reason is those APKs came from my 10G2 when they got updated from the stock 10G2 ROM. So they are probably not compatible with the 7G2 when injected. It's probably not a APP Injector program problem but the APKs themselves.

Can you do me a favor. When you get the APKs updated etc and working. Can you copy them out of /data/app and onto your SDcard. Then Email them to me. I will use those to update package.zip for the final ROM. I will PM you my Email addy. Pleae try all the apps from the package so we know which ones need to be updated.
