    So go into CWM.
Go into advanced and try wiping the dalvic cache. reboot.
If you still have the problem then go back into CWM and into mounts and storage.
Now format data and format cache
Yes you will loose all your installed stuff. Sorry.
But for sure that should fix that force close on media.

thanks i tried it and the error isn't showing up for now. Ok just one more thing would you mind looking into the logcat of the gta3 game. I think I saw a debug in there. Here it is: loca.txt
I tried assassins creed too but it gave white objects. I'll try some more later..

thanks for all the effort you're putting into this. you're one in a million

        Bob,

Found a game which is acting strange. Tried Deer Hunter Reloaded. Got to the 3rd level, now nothing but FC's.

Also, had a thought about the battery icon. I'm no programmer but could we not look at the coding for the battery meter measurement from the other gingercomb roms, and other styles of widget and see if there's tweaks required in the code? Or similarly your previous 1.4/1.5 roms?

Just a thought. Still happy to volunteer to push some files through adb if you wish.

        cheers,

        bay

vrailink, OK so this is a trade off. This file here is what I replaced to get more games working. However for gta3 I see in the debug it is one of the files that crashed. So I am providing the original and you can see if it fixes the game. Realize however it may break others! So what you want to do is this so you can switch back and forth if needed:

          1) Download this file libc.so.zip. Unzip it and put it on your SDcard.

          http://video.freaktab.com/?subpath=f...me=libc.so.zip

          2) Get ES FIle explorer. In settings on ES file explorer setup like this
          a) go into "file setting" and turn on show hidden files. Back up one level.
          b) scroll down and turn on up to root.
          c) Scroll down and turn on root explorer
          d) below that turn on mount system as RW

          3) On your sdcard rename libc.so to libc.new
          4) Copy that into /system/lib
          5) Do this step as quick as possible. Rename libc.so to libc.old and rename libc.new to libc.so
          6) Hold you finger on the libc.so file and get the pop up. Scroll down and select properties
          7) In properties click the change button to change permissions
          8) Make sure all 9 boxes are checked!
          6) Exit ES file explorer and reboot. See if you can power off rather than a reset.

          See if this fixes gta3.

            Battery stats.....

OK I need you guys to do a test for me

Go to Google Play and get the application anycut and install it.

Run it and select "new short cut"
            Select activity
scroll down the list and select "battery info"
click OK at the pop up box
            exit anycut

Now on your desktop should be a settings icon for battery info. run that.
Tell me what it says. WIth charger unplugged watch and tell me if the battery level changes over time.

              Bob,

ok done that. On battery info it still does not update at all. No movement either plugged in or unplugged.

I installed the app and shortcut whilst on battery power, plugged the unit it & restarted battery info & under power plug it still says unplugged - despite being on power.

              So you have the info:

              Battery status - unknown
Power Plug: unplugged (even though now plugged in)
              Battery Scale: 100
              Battery health: good
              Battery voltage: 3mV
              Battery temp: 0.0c
              Battery Technology: Li-ion
Time since boot: this is moving

              Hope this helps

By the way guys.... doing some research on the battery thing.

ALSO please try replacing the libc.so file as I decribe above! This may fix the bettery icon.
                Let me know.

                  Bob,

ok something's gone wrong! Did as instructed using ES File Explorer & the file, now in an endless boot loop - won't get past the Arnova & Damo's first boot screen (before the flashing android eyes).

Any ideas? Do I presume i'm going to have to re-flash & re-start??

WOw... it should not have done that. I wonder if ES File explorer did not copy the SO file correctly.

If you know how to use ADB you should be able to boot enough to rename the files again... If not, yes your going to have to reflash.

HOWEVER... you will not loose your data. Just reflash system.img ONLY and it should boot up again.

                    Bob

P.S. You guys should be making CWM backups to SDcard so you can recover as we experiment!

Oh well- did a re-flash, so am setting up now.

Will take your point in the CWM backup, don't worry. Will try the file again through ES, no bother seeing as i've got an 'empty' system. But won't take long - I only did a TB backup yesterday so can restore.

Will post back if I get the same or different this time

                        Ok, Bob, little update.

Did the process again using ES - this time without strange re-boots, etc, so got the file in. Still have the ? on the battery

Off to restore now, then CWM backup! lol!

I think I may have found the issue MAYBE.... Again I cannot duplicate this. It works fine on my 10G2 kernel. So I am shooting in the dark. However I think I found some library files to put back from the 7G2 into this ROM that may fix the battery.

Stay tuned... I will have a new ROM for you to flash soon. There are too many important libs to replace to allow simple copying over.

OK while trying different lib files and some more google searching I think I may have found it.

I replaced this file on my 10G2 and now for me the battery icon does not work.

So like the proceedure above for replacing files.

                              Download this:

                              http://video.freaktab.com/?subpath=f...icemanager.zip

                              unzip to sdcard
do the proceedure above but this time you will replace servicemanager in /system/bin

Let me know how it goes please.
