A great rom but with a minor flaw (I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same).
When I move the mouse (wired) or change pages in stock launcher3, or when moving from a screen to another from idle, the whole system is lagging for some microseconds like stuttering. I have noticed this with or without the cpu_fix and it is not a mouse problem (have tried 3 so far) since this also happens when moving between launcher screens with a wired keyboard.
After those milliseconds (about half a second) the system is restored to full speed and it becomes super fluid and responsive. In order to notice the effect you can leave the system to rest for about 10 seconds. It's like all cores go to sleep and somehow when I wake them up the system is lagging for a while.
The effect is less noticeable on a stock firmware. I used 102k4 on my beelink M8 and I could barely notice it. I then rooted it easy-root and the effect became very visible. In this finless 1.5 the effect is there. My system is clean, have not installed anything and also tried via zip file and img.
I think it's either a kernel problem or a problem with my device. The temperatures with the cpu_fix1296 are between 58-72C. Is this normal or not? Is there anything to try?
-- Just made a breakthrough! If you go to developer options and tick the "Don't keep activities" option, almost eliminates the effect!Last edited by vprasinos; 27 May 2014, 19:00.

Foodog
M8 square box sound and stock remote
I have confirmed this on three square box M8's One in CA, One in Ohio and mine here in Texas.
Rom screams, but:
No HDMI sound
No Optical Sound
Stock remote control dead. (missing APK?)

have noticed that there are lots of debugging messages on the serial console for this kind of activity. Once we get the kernel compile sorted we can disable this output and see if it makes a diference. At 115200 kpbs to UART this can cause stutter.
The stock FW has recently disabled lots of debugging options in the kernel that helps with this prob. We'll sort it in time

I just grabbed the link from another thread. You just unrar the 'rar' file, place the contents on a memory card and flash the zip update as you normally would with Bob's tweaked roms from this thread.
You could do that or wait for an even further improved 104k4 finless Bob rom!Last edited by dave_999; 27 May 2014, 22:55.

Is it rooted?

It's not rooted, it's factory stock and it's here:
