    Both of my boxes (CS968 and CS918) are 1st gen RK3188 but I have not found good modded FW for 1080p playback.

    What FW are you using for your RK3188 box?

        Last stock firmwares

        Hi,
        Personally, I don't think that those cyxtech boxes are the worst ones, since they got firmware updates quite frequently.
        I'm actually running last firmware I found (for 2GB RAM) with last SPMC and it is playing my FullHD movies without problem.

        Here are the last stock firmwares I've found on pan.baidu.com. I've uploaded them on mega.co.nz for non chinese downloaders :

        Version for 2GB of RAM : cyxtech_rk31_cs918_8723_141107_4.4_8g2g.rar

        Version for 1GB of RAM : cyxtech_rk31_cs918_8723_141013_4.4_8g1g.rar
        Cyxtech RK3188 box (cyx_cs918 v2_1) with last sock firmware and SPMC
        -> It finally works like a charm !

          first Time Iam happy with this box. No shutter any more.

          smpc 14.0 Beta 2 + the new firmware are Perfect.

            and the CPU's are Working correctly Now over 1008Mhz to 1600mhz

              Great ! I'm glad that's working well for you as well
              So when SPMC 14 final will come out, we could think about cooking a firmware including it together with root access.
              Cyxtech RK3188 box (cyx_cs918 v2_1) with last sock firmware and SPMC
              -> It finally works like a charm !

                Thats an good idea.
                Then you can remove the preinstalled xbmc. And netflix (Not Working), cloudTv ect. For a Slim rooted firmware.
