      I'm watching this thread now.

If anyone can provide DMESG and GPIOs from a working 'stock' kernel then I will be able to get a custom one built.

      Current test kernels are here

Davey39's device seems to have a problem with the standard power regulator chip which is odd. It reports no ACT8846 chip with stock and custom kernels. Currently, we don't know if this box/stick is 'special' or damaged.

          Hi,

For linux/debian/ubuntu users, I've just written a bash script that automatize everything for getting the gpio dumps, even enable and disable wifi/bluetooth.

See here for more informations :
GitHub is where people build software. More than 150 million people use GitHub to discover, fork, and contribute to over 420 million projects.

Do not hesitate to test it and report any problem or some modifications.

I'm not used to windows scripting but i'll have a look to translate it into a .bat script.

          Thanks

-> It finally works like a charm !

            NICE
I think #69 (if something like 'wget' at windows also exist/available) or ~#96 till end will also work at windows at a cmd (ok, the function 'dump_gpio' could be a problem ) ...

Any of XBMC versions at all doesn't work at the last version of an stock FW for some reason, except wasser. When playing any video only the green square on all screen, with a soundtrack is displayed! Therefore, I replaced preset XBMC with wasser XBMC.

By the way, on the previous page davy39 described this malfunction too in this stock FW:

Reading this thread I tried to install Q7 lewy firmware but surprisingly I got an error message while flashing it to the box with upgrade_tools...

Finally I installed the last stock rom cyxtech_cs918_8723_box_140731_8G2G.rar

Everything works out of the box (wifi, eth, blutooth...) except the original xbmc version...
I installed the last wasserXBMC which is able to read 3D fullHD mkv quite fluently :

I have installed the stockfirmware and Water xmbc - Stutter
I have installed your custom and water xbmc - Stutter

i have flash back Q7 from lewy with lan only
the playback and HD Streams are beautyful.
                    its my final Solution.

what is the Different from Q7 lewy and the stock?
The anTuTu Benchmark is the baddest - but has the best Playback

I think the vsync fix for the orginal kernel dont work with the patchomatic

                      Problem of XBMC solved

I ask to pay attention that micro stutters when playing in XBMC aren't a problem of vertical synchronization! As I already told earlier, in other media players video playback of files ideally.
The problem when using a XBMC is that in a stock FW the nominal frequency of the CPU is lowered. Someone already said earlier that freguency is established at level 1Ghz that obviously doesn't suffice for XBMC. For myself I didn't see the reasons to unblock her to level 1.6Ghz (nominal frequency), proceeding from thought that for cooling it probably the best option. Nevertheless, I patch a kernel with new params: CPU - 1608mhz, GPU - 798mhz, and it appeared enough for smooth playing in XMBC. Now behind my back normally playbacking "Back To the Future" in 1080p, I test... Soon after, today, I will lay out the new version of assembly.

The stock fw run on 1008mhz
q7 from lewy on 1400mhz (without Therical Problems)

I have Used patchomatic to overclock the stock Kernel (without errors) but its Show me always 1008mhz

Yes, CPUz shows me the same (1008Mhz). Nevertheless productivity in Antutu grew a little, and with playback in any player (yes, XBMS too!) there are no problems. About four hours of uptime I have no problems, all ok. So here is my new build, if anyone need this: https://yadi.sk/d/yC4OI9mkaTqAd

I have exactly all the problems you had, but my PCB is 2.1. I've installed all the FWs and have a decent playback, but they turn off after a couple of minutes when using XBMC.

Do you have any tip for me? Will your fw work for me?
