1.7 rom after loading it xbmc gotham does not show any video just audio and hd audio does not work 1.6 was almost perfect - hd audio any one else have there xbmc even a fresh install have no video on this 1.7 rom?

sometimes a restart will fix that. also what xbmc version are you using? amlogic from geekbuying or omans freaktab thread or official xbmc.org. i do with almost 100% certainty that if you have an xbmc problem it is an xbmc problem and not a rom issue. xbmc devs are working hard to resolve issues with certain devices. this chipset is still relatively new and fixes will come with xbmc updates.

Google XBMC oman build, download and install to correct video issues in new ROM installs.

Try to install the newest version from this site: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/android/arm/ and check if is working...

Just switched from 1.6 and this version is a little more peppy than 1.6

Antutu scored higher 31870 the menu is more responsive and faster switching screens.

The google play store i did get the spinning circle for a bit went into more settings/apps and cleared the cache and after that it ran just fine.

Other problems i ran into were all user error like xbmc i had no sound on videos until i realized i never set that up after installing works fine now.

Temps: i think my overall average temperature increased to 45c but my highest temps dropped from seeing 75c down to about 60c give or take.

Overall id say its definitely an improvement over 1.6

Thanks bob! You finally got rid of the search bar.like the screenshot function nice touch! I have a 720 TV my Vega std settings are set to 720 but on the latest nightly build of xbmc it tells me screen res 1080. My films are off centred and have it set on stretch 16:9 which is what I used normally.can you help me on this?
Installed CPU patch 1000 and temp watching a movie is 65c

Ram usage is 60% only things running avast xbmc and adapt lock never ran this high on same apps

Back again just installed finless 1.7 on my measy b4a using method #2 thank you Bob everything works superb haven't installed my apps yet but will do so and see how they run stuble in the same thing as kotobide play store spinning circle solve it thanks kotobide for your input antutu x scores 31096.

xbmc Gotham stable does not work with the ROM try the latest nightly . I had same problem . now to fix the resolution been stuck at 1080

try using xbmc that oman started a thread on or the one on blog.geekbuying.com. If that doesn't work open up your guisettings.xml in android/data/data/org.xbmc.org/.xbmc/userdata/guisettings.xml and find the resolution and change it. Also maybe try a clean install of xbmc.

make sure you show hidden files in folders in your file explorer. Once again I'm more familiar with frodo which used advancedsettings.xml to overide, but one of those xml files should set your playback resolution

try and see if the system settings can be changed within xbmc (i think the are locked to your system resolution) if not try to bring context menu over the app in xbmc you are using and see if it has a max resolution setting. Once again a fresh install of omans or xbmc from geekbuying might be a easier fix. There are so many possible problems that it could be from these unstable releases from the box companies in conjunction with so many chipsets for xbmc to support in their nightlies and "stable" releases. Eventually amcodec libstagefright and mediacodec support on these boxes will be flawless. As firmware and kerrnals get better and change so will xbmc support for the boxes. Once again, thanks devs for making shit released too soon smell a little bit better. Its 5:30am here and have to work soon so goodnite, goodmorning, or good afternoon wherever you are and can't wait to wake up and see more kinks fixed

Thanx again Bob for the rom modifications....antutu and xbmc reports 1080P resolution even though I've selected 720P....
