Beelink S82 & M8 / Tronsmart S89 - Finless 1.7 ROM

One thing I have noticed is that no matter what rom I use for my Vega S802-H, the 4k player does not show up as an option when I open an app that needs a video player. The only way I can try a 4k video using this player is to put the 4k video on the micro sd card and open the 4k player. Any ideas on that?

I guess I should clarify my statement. I have all my media stored on a NAS drive, so it is not accessible with the stock 4k player.

This too can be fixed. I was actually looking into this before releasing 1.7 but it got real confusing for me. It has to do with the default media player as registered in Android. I will work on this more but it's like all over the place in the system and not a simple fix. Probably why it's not working even on stock ROMs.

I have no clue what your talking about. You cannot download the Play Store!
It has to be in the ROM.

You should not have needed to do that. I updated the ROM to the latest play store and GMSCore. I tested this over and over so I know it works. Not sure what happened with you but that should not have been needed. My bet is if you had given it time it would have worked. Possible time zone issues or your gplay account. I don't know but it should have worked. I am not new to updating GMS core files.

I updated the play store and it works now.

After I install the ROM I couldn't access to the store... but after I restart the box, I could opened it without any issue. The Agreement dialog pop up, I click accept and voilá!

1.7 rom after loading it xbmc gotham does not show any video just audio and hd audio does not work 1.6 was almost perfect - hd audio any one else have there xbmc even a fresh install have no video on this 1.7 rom?

OK folks so the 105K4 came out a few days ago!
So while still learning stuff on AML this 1.7 ROM took a little more time.
I have new features and fixes in 1.7 I had not done before

This is based on the S82/S89 105K4 ROM.

This is for the following devices:
- Tronsmart S89 and S89-H
- Beelink S82 and S82-H
- Beelink M8 square box. Well 105K4 says it's for the M8 but I do not have a M8 to test so I am not sure.

This IS NOT for the ENY/Acemax EM8 square box!!!

Features and release notes for my 1.7 ROM:

1) Properly rooted using SuperSU. What does properly mean?

2) Updated Google framework and Play Store core files. The ones in the stock ROM were out of date.
On first boot NOTHING will need to be updated once you logon to Google Play. That is as of this date.

3) Debloated of junk APPs and Google Apps you can get from Google Play.
I did remove XBMC and other pre-install APPs as well. I like a CLEAN ROM that you the user can setup the way you want. Having APPs in /system leaves that junk in there forever (unless you delete them by hand with a root explorer). If you want the original XBMC APP then download it from Geekbuying.com

4) As always, full init.d support! If you do not know what that is... ignore it.
For geeks that want to use it. It is there!

5) I fixed the AOSP Launcher3 for several things:
- Removed the Google search bar by request.
- Added more than one screen for scrolling.
- Updated the dock icons to things more useful.
- Apps installed with Google Play will automatically be added to the home screen.
I think you will like this launcher better

6) Fix the bottom navigation bar.
There was a bug in 105K in that on first boot the navigation bar is seen and it is stuck there, even though in Mbox Settings it is set to hide the navigation bar! Before this fix you had to go into Mbox settings>screen and toggle hide bar off and back on to make it work.
This is now fixed. It is hidden per the default Mbox settings on boot.

7) By request I added the calendar APP and it now syncs with your Google account.

8) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say "not compatible".
I am spoofing a Samsung device (Nexus 10) that will show almost any APP as compatible.
This should also allow Netflix HD but I have not tested it.
Your device will show up in google play as Nexus 10 device not a S82/S89! Understand this please.
I also left the original build.prop in the ROM called build.orig.
If you want to go back, just use ES File Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old
Then rename build.orig to build.prop.
Go into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.
Reboot! You should be back to showing up as a S82/S89.

9) I added a reboot APP that will allow optional reboot options like reboot to recovery for easier updates.

10) Carrier spoofs for better APP compatibility.

11) The usual tweaks I do for better performance e.g. TCP buffers sizes, etc etc.

12) Added bonus! CPU fixer patches!
In this ZIP is a CPU fixer folder. These zips can be used to adjust your minimum CPU frequency and Governor.
See the README.txt in that folder for an explanation and how to install them.

I have been using XBMC Helix nightly build, and even on this 1.7 ROM, it is running great. Both Dolby and DTS are working. I did not have to change any hardware acceleration settings, either.
