As with all devices if it a hardware failure the warranty covers it regardless of software.
A manufacturing defect is still just that regardless of the software running on a device.
Opening the device and messing around with the insides would void any warranty though.
Also overclocking a device and frying it to a crisp would do the same but on these devices that not even possible at this point.Mk802IV Neomode 1.9a original rom 720p

XBMC video issues not fixed by 720p fix patch

This is for people with 720P TVs and want stock XBMC to work e.g. like Gotham 13.1.
In this download is a folder with the 720P patch and a unpatcher if you need it.
In there is also the 720P patch compatible CPU Fixer patches.
SEE THE README IN THAT FOLDER for an explanation of what the 720P patcher is all about.
thanks for your work on Finless 1.8, first of all!
Have applied the 720p fix patch for my Panasonic HDReady Plasma and it seems to have been successful as Settings > Display shows: HDMI 720p 60HZ
But, XBMC 13.1 (both stock and Oman version) still seems to be fixed at 1920x1080p, windowed (according to the System>Video Hardware dialogue, Displaymode setting cannot be changed), which does not seem to be an issue for the XBMC interface - but the moment you play a video (MKV in my case) you only get to see the upper left corner of the picture, with the subtitles displayed OK.
This seems to be the same as for the the stock 106k - any idea of how to get the S82 to work properly with a 720p TV?
Best Regards,
BOFH

Apply the patch. Go into Mbox settings and turn off auto and set it for 720P.
Reboot.
Now please install Antutu benchmark. Run it and go into device info. It should say 1920x720. If it does then run XBMC and see what it now says. If XBMC still says 1080, then something is jacked up with the XBMC install. Try removing and re-installing.

question
ok so what is the difference between stock 107k4 and your rom which is 106k4 as you can tell I am a noob but hell we all started somwhere
Originally posted by Finless View PostOK folks so the 106K4 came out a week ago.
Sorry for the delay in getting this out this time but I was working on the X8 and the poor ENY M8 box that needs lots of help!
But, 1.8 has new stuff. Also a lot of the patchers needed for 1.7 are no more!
Like Xbox and PS3, now built in.
1080P-24hz built in!
720P patcher available in download so no extra download!
ETC... ETC... ETC...
I have also tested this pretty heavily with the standard XBMC 13.1 Gotham!
Seems to work great for me!

This is based on the S82/S89 106K4 ROM.
This is for the following devices:
- Tronsmart S89 and S89-H
- Beelink S82 and S82-H
- Beelink M8 (black and red round box)
This IS NOT for the ENY/Acemax EM8 square box!!!

Features and release notes for my 1.8 ROM:
1) Properly rooted using SuperSU and su binary is running as a daemon not a boot script!
2) Updated Google framework and Play Store core files. The ones in the stock ROM were out of date.
On first boot NOTHING will need to be updated once you logon to Google Play.
That is as of this date.
3) Debloated of junk APPs and Google Apps you can get from Google Play.
There was quite a few useless hidden apps in this KitKat release! Some of them did not even work.
I did remove XBMC and other pre-install APPs as well. I like a CLEAN ROM that you the user can setup the way you want. Having APPs in /system leaves that junk in there forever (unless you delete them by hand with a root explorer).
If you want the original XBMC APP then download it from Geekbuying.com.
I prefer the standard XBMC 13.1 Gotham though! Uses it all the time on this ROM while testing.
4) As always, full init.d support! If you do not know what that is... ignore it. For geeks that want to use it. It is there!
5) I fixed the AOSP Launcher for several things:
Removed the Google search bar by request.
Added more than one screen for scrolling.
Updated the dock icons to things more useful.
Apps installed with Google Play will automatically be added to the home screen.
I think you will like this launcher better
6) Fix the bottom navigation bar.
There was a bug in 106K in that on first boot the navigation bar is seen and it stuck there,
even though in Mbox Settings it is set to hide the navigation bar!
Before this fix you had to go into Mbox settings>screen and toggle hide bar off and back on to make it work.
This is now fixed. It is hidden per the default Mbox settings on boot.
7) By request I added the calendar APP and it now syncs with your Google account.
8) By request I added a new KL file Vendor_03e7_Product_0d01.kl for the Mele f10pro.
Special thanks to FreakTab user Biatsch for the file.
9) Xbox and PS3 added to the ROM. No more patching required!
FYI, woomg I think is still working on PS3 Bluetooth support.
10) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say "not compatible".
I am spoofing a Samsung device (Nexus 10) that will show almost any APP as compatible.
This should also allow Netflix HD but I have not tested it.
Your device will show up in google play as Nexus 10 device not a S82/S89! Understand this please.
I also left the original build.prop in the ROM called build.orig.
If you want to go back, just use ES FIle Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old
Then rename build.orig to build.prop.
Go into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.
Reboot! You should be back to showing up as a S82/S89.
11) I added a reboot APP that will allow optional reboot options like reboot to recovery for easier updates.
12) Added bonus! CPU fixer patches!
In this ZIP is a CPU_fixer folder. These zips can be used to adjust your minimum CPU frequency and Governor.
See the README.txt in that folder for an explanation and how to install them.
13) 720p fix patch!
14) Carrier spoofs for better APP compatibility.
15) The usual tweaks I do for better performance e.g. TCP buffers sizes, etc etc.
16) Did a little "themeing" to the system. I hope you like it. I do

DO NOT just copy this download ZIP to SDcard and expect it to work!
UNZIP it and read the README for instructions!
If someone posts again it does work with a footer error I WILL KILL YOU
Kidding... but man some people need to READ before jumping in head first!

OK so here is the download!
READ the README.TXT in the zip for instructions!

That is logging onto Google Play the first time!
DO NOT run the Play Store and login the first time from there. It will get hung up.
You can recover but it's a PAIN.
Instead used advanced settings>accounts
Add the Google account from settings and it will work perfect!

Thanks, you were right - must have had some remnants of a previous XBMC install there...

24p auto recognition
Originally posted by gizmomelb View PostThanks for the updates and changelog Bob, interesting to see / hear what will be in 107K4.
Does the 1080p24 work as auto frequency switching or am I mistaken that that is not available in Android / Amlogic yet please?
ie: I still use my old WDTV media player a lot as it auto supports switching between 1080p50 / 1080p60 / 1080p24Hz depending on the source video material.
thank you.
I'm asking me the same question. Do I have to switch the frequency manually or is there a possibility to use 1080p24p auto recognition?
My tested mkv videos with PleXBMC were only playing in 1080p60p when using auto frequency in settings.
BTW: Got my MEasy B4A yesterday and 1.8 Finnless ROM is working great with XBMC 13.1 so far.
Thanks Bob!
