What version of XBMC does Oman use? I've rather enjoyed using stock 13.1 gotham and customizing the addons myself.

If I use Omans can I copy and paste my org.xbmc folder so I get all my customizations to automatically load?

yes it's gotham

use Total Commander app to copy that folder fast before it's wiped in flashing:

click on folder icon (not name) to select
click second icon at bottom with arrow to copy to 2nd pane on actual sd-card2
copy back after flashing
set settings

Just to confirm there's still issues with this 1.8 (remote control issues and interlaced video?)

Does the interlaced video issue only happen when using 1080i? I don't want to go through the hassle of updating if 1.7 is better at the moment.

I'm hoping that these issues are fixed as I get a lot of xbmc crashes on 1.7 and someone mentioned less crashes on 1.8!

And also just to verify if i go into preinstall folder of this ZIP and swap out the stock XBMC with my personal customized XBMC it will preinstall while flashing?! If yes you're a life saver haha!

I'm no expert, I don't do any O/S programming or android but I can create AI systems if I could be bothered to be interested in computers again, I'm just an android user.

* remote control issues I have not had, I would advise the person who had it to reinstall

* interlaced video: not yet, anyone gets it post a pic please if using Oman xbmc + asdvancedsettings.xml as I said many times, I doubt it. I now have all 3 hardware accelerators in xbmc enabled & no problems

* as for hassle: try to learn titanium, free version just asks to reinstall apps 1-by-1, copy folder to sd-card as it deletes it in factory reset in recovery, then reinstall

Titanium Backup (& restore) app is very easy:
menu button: Batch actions: backup apps
menu button: Batch actions: restore apps

IF the backed-up folder in root of box memory is not copied to SD-CARD: WILL BE DELETED IN FLASHING NEW ROM !

Copy back to box memory after flashing new ROM, to restore.

* Just flash 1.8, uninstall included xbmc, install Oman xbmc + asdvancedsettings.xml in my thread:

* also restoring xbmc addons takes a few moments to new ROM IF the addons folder is SAVED PROPERLY on the old 1.7 ROM onto SD-CARD for restoring

* Linux by Stane is no O/S just xbmc but I need android O/S & apps, not just xbmc.

I have various pads & wireless keyboards & another remote + M8 remote which is still useful to interact with M8.

To setup your M8 use a $3 wireless PC mouse, much faster.

Anyone with M8 wanting android: has to install this 1.8, much superior than any ROM

Parts are same but Layout and manufacturer name is different ....
So Do you have any Problem with this device? If you ever tried M8 Square Roms from this forum and haven't got any problem means Finless Rom should work for you...
