Exactly followed the steps from the attached installation manual inside the em8_finless_rom18.zip file.
During installation i received the following error messages:

E: footer is wrong
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted

Any idea how to fix this?

Unzip the Rom zip from inside the big zip file which is not for flashing itself.

for me the firmware is ok but XBMC is a nightmare....

whats wrong with the xbmc? which version ,13.1?

I want to make sure it's alright to put finless 1.8 on this box with 1.7 finless rom pre installed. It is a m8 by OTT 4k.

sd card and toothpick method full instructions are included in zip file,i've not used 1.7 but i think that may include a loader so you don't need toothpick.

Yes it's ok i have that box from OTT i bought it from Acemax.I have finless 1.8 rom on it with oman xbmc and it is running pretty well.
