NEW - Finless 1.8 for EM8 Square Box

Hi...I just purchased and received one of these M8 boxes. It came with firmware dated 6/16 or 6/26, non finless rom. However it was crashing quite a bit. After doing much reading, i decided to put finless 1.8 rom on the box. I flashed the rom via SD card and match reset button in A/V hole method. i also did factory reset first. The issue I keep getting is random reboots. i was able to reproduce pretty consistently with antutu app. What I did was run stability test two time consecutively one after another and then run the full test on antutu and after it runs to 97% on full test it would flash and reboot. i was also able to reproduce this while streaming 1080P video, seems to take about 15-30 mins then reboot. Finally I decided to put finless 1.7 rom and did all the same tests. It seemed to pass all those tests, except when i ran it in finless 1.7 rom, it did not have xbmc installed on it yet. i installed oman's xbmc and then streamed a few more 1080P video of about 45 min each video and at the end of the second video it rebooted again. Does anyone know what might cause the rebooting?

I am having exactly the same issues on my box using 1.7 with Oman's XBMC. No luck so far. Mine doesn't just reboot. It seems that it crashes Android (while streaming HD movies/TV shows mainly from GOmovies and GOtv) and I have to unplug the power and put it back in. Have you also tried Kodi? I haven't tried 1.8 because of the interlace issue but i will give it a try.

Reboot issue still exists...maybe I will try test out new build as well and see if that solves this. Out of curiosity...are you on finless 1.8 or 1.7?

I am currently testing Kodi 14 alpha 2, apparently there was a big Amlogic S802 fix in it. Only been a day but so far very stable

Yeah I am on 1.7 now...I enjoy the finless roms as they are usually debloated and stable...I wonder if the rebooting issue has anything to do with the xbmc install...I ended up turning hw acceleration in xbmc in hopes that will solve the reboot issues.

Install 1.7 version of this rom. Although I didn't have reboot issues I did have interlacing issues as reported. Apparently the firmware release that was added to this rom has issues. Of course not finless' fault.

Unzip recovery.img from inside it & also put on sd-card
Insert sd-card & hold reset button inside a/v hole

If it does not work, post here as there are other ways.

These M8 are unbrickable in my experience, I tried to brick it.

Hi hi while your on the subject of remotes I have a mx9 air mouse but the backup button doesn't work any idea how to resolve that is there a key map I can get. The home button works. Backspace in the keyboard works

Inadvertently i have installed firmware for S82b 108k4 on my M8 square, everything worked ok, except sound and remote. Memory correct recognised at 16GB.
Antutu was amazing 31500 instead of 24300 on your 1.8 (cpu_fix1008).
From 16GB only 6 GB usable in 1.8. What can i do ?
Its possible install the missing driver after ? How to ?
