NEW - Finless 1.8 for EM8 Square Box

Anybody having issues with oman xbmc..on 1080p videos ..movies..on finless 1.8..just noticed a bit of a not a stutter ..i cant describe it its like blurry images for a while then comes back again....does it have something to do with HW settings??thanks..i just flash last night and tried playing with it..will do more test tonight when i get back home.

My home cinema setup: yes, is a projector pared with a 120" floating screen (MDF painted with Black Widow Ultra) and led strip backlight all around the edges, which gives it a nice 3D perception, increases black level perception and looks cool!

Acemax confirmed its a clone PCB thats why Try the FW at your own risk !

Hi can anyone provide some hints of speeding up the exiting from xbmc, I got bugga all installed, just the hub? Xbmc version is Oman with the 1008 CPU fix

That's a good set with future potential for sure even if this new one is slightly zippier and maybe more relevant, probably should have called this 1.9.

It seems better still though.

It has some things from that ROM but it's not that ROM. I learn and use. Can I leave it at that for a little bit.

I actually did unzip lol I was looking at the wrong file...the downloaded file is em8_finless_rom18.zip and the actual ROM is em8_finless18.zip haha....kept transferring the wrong one!

For some reason this FW fails the verification process for me. So does 1.7 - even though I have installed it before. The linux build works and going back to my custom ROM works, but I can't get it to install.

This is what I get:

Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

I have not unzipped it or anything, just downloaded and put onto SD card. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

if you did unzip as TMx said and still a problem:

can't remember seeing a checksum for these ROMs, might be bad download, download again.

out of interest: if you know DOS fc command, do it to compare the 2 files

factory reset a couple of times before flashing

go to recovery via hard reset physical button

The ZIP download has the ROM and other goodies inside.
DO NOT simply put this ZIP download on SDcard and expect it to work!!!
