The challenge for newbies is getting connected in flash mode with your pc. There are plenty of pointers for that all over this site, because it is pretty common. Don't give up.

hi people from Spain ¡¡ first of all congratulate all people that let exist fantastic places to share information like this forum. second: say sorry about my english level, it's an essue that i have to improve. i bought the arnova 10b g3 capacitive tablet, and i was a little bit disapointed because i didn't thought that it would be such slowly and not smothy like it looks now. i flashed the root custom firmware with market and google acount from arctablet website with the easy way. And i think i could get more if i install this custom firmware.... is there any tuttorial to do it ? i need a recovery to do that ? every advice from all of you will be wellcome. Thank you all ¡¡¡

As randy states it is all down to getting your 10bg3 into recovery & then installing the rockchip drivers. This is the only tricky part.

Easy way to do it...
1. Have your tablet on & connected to your pc. Make sure you eject any external micro sd card you might have in - if you keep it in whilst flashing it could harm it!
2. Get a paperclip. At the same time put the paperclip in the reset hole & press the volume up button (both on the side of the tablet, both next to each other). Hold both in for 15 seconds then remove the paperclip (whilst still holding the volume up). Wait 1 second after taking the paperclip out & release the volume up button. So you're doing the 'press' for a total of 16 seconds. Your tablet's screen should go blank & you should have an error message appear on your pc that the device isn't recognised. This is what you want.
3. Your tablet is in recovery mode (blank) & ready for flashing. But you now need to install the rockchip drivers. In your PC go to 'Device Manager' and navigate to a usb device which has a notification - meaning its not recognised. Bring up the properties of the device. Select 'update driver' & then navigate to the folder from the ROM you download & select the appropriate driver for your PC, i.e. Windows 7, 32 bit, etc. Your PC will then install the driver. After this is all done successfully you're ready to go.
4. Open up the rockchip flash tool contained in the ROM folder you download. Both Bob & Snakekiller put the settings in so you're ready to go. The programe should state that it has "Found Rockchip Device". If it says "No Rockchip Device Found" follow the steps above (2) to put your tablet in flash mode.
5. Once the device is found you first of all need to hit the button that says "Erase IDB". This is very important. It will show the values for this in the window on the right. A popup box will appear when it's complete (doesn't take long).
6. All you need to do now is hit the big "Run" button & the flashing will commence. Again the download of the ROM will appear in the window on the right. It will download first then check the download. At the end a message will appear on the right saying "All ok" (or something like that), and your tablet will automatically reboot.
7. Watch the magic of the custom rom appear. You will be taken into Clockworkmod first. You need to use the volume up & down buttons to move around, then use the power on button to select. At first boot simply select "Reboot now".
8. The boot screen will appear & your custom ROM is ready to go. I highly recommend after you get all your apps & settings configured to used the Reboot app which is in the main apps drawer to reboot back into CWM & then do a nand backup of your ROM, settings, system, etc in one to your external micro SD. Its very useful for when you muck about with different ROMs, settings & bug testing! If anything goes wrong you can just restore using CWM - even after a re-flash of a custom ROM.
9. To be on the safe side get hold of a copy of the stock 10bg3 ROM - in case you wish to go back to the original at any point. There are links on this forum or you can grab one at Arctablet (sorry Bob, just giving a reference! lol!). Unfortunately when you install a custom rom you cannot auto backup any settings, apps, etc. So I also recommend doing an appsaver backup of your apk's before you start.

So in summary...
- Backup your APKs, contacts, important stuff to external micro sd first. Then eject micro SD.
- Put tablet into recovery / flash mode as described
- Install rockchip drivers to your PC
- Open Rockchip flash tool.
- Erase IDB
- Run tool to flash rom
- Select restart in CWM
- Enjoy new custom rom on your 10bg3
- Reinstall apps / settings to tablet
- Reboot into CWM & do Nand backup to external micro sd.
- Have fun & contribute to the forum!

You'll find that Flash 11 works fine, but some flash aspects aren't too good on the tablet. I know you're in Spain but over here BBC iPlayer doesn't work (fast video to audio). Once custom ROM is installed Google Play should tell you there's an update for flash - an according to the new today it's staying in the market a little while longer!

on stockrom we had on the right side also a button for on or off like the button of screenrotation

ok i don't now if you seen the problem with gallery and playing videos?
videos won't play properly.
with quickpick it's perfect. no flickering any more on the right side .
i sended a mail to the creator and i have permission for adding it .
sow quickpick will be the default pic. and videoplayer in the next release.
