TWRP 2.7.1.0 Custom Recovery - Compatible with R89

Just FYI - I have successfully flashed abduls TWRP Recovery port to the R89 (UBOX 8GB Version)

For those of you that prefer a more familiar recovery, makes light work of flashing zips, and performing full back ups and restores and works flawlessly with all air mouses and keyboards ive tried (TSM~01, Minix M1, Logitech K400)

He also gives us a choice of UI resolutions (optional and may not be required)

    1. Download Flashify or similar app...

    2. Backup current recovery either to SD Card or optional cloud storage

    3. Go to flash > recovery image and select file (TWRP_Beelink_R89.img)

    4. Click flash (or Yup!) If I remember correctly.

    5. Reboot into recovery.....

You should now have TWRP installed...

It may not be be full screen so you might now need to flash the 1920x1080.zip file via TWRP....

Go to install > sdcard > Downloads (if that's where you downloaded to!)

Return to TWRP Home screen, hit reboot > Recovery and now you should be full screen.

    Final Step - Enjoy

All credit goes to abdul_pt - perfect soloution for us beta testers imo

Works a treat my friend. Only slightly too big for my monitor screen at 1080p, haven't tested with big TV but suspect it would fit correctly, but unless there's any changes you would deem necessary I would think it safe to safe this is a perfect port

Is it backing up the new resource partition that is new to 3288?

"Vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun"
"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"
"Perdónalos porque no saben que lo que hacen"
"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju Å¡to čine"
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"

Now that is a very good question, and..... It would appear not.. at least to my untrained and unknowledgable* eye.

*not sure that's a real word..

This new partition, I did a ROM dump the other day, following your guide of course, so am fully aware of it and should of checked before sharing this I guess?! but what exactly is it Bob?!! I thought I'd found the perfect solution, guess I'm 90% there..

Updated the image. Now uboot and resource can be backup.

This is not a full recovery, to work properly it requires a valid resource image. If anyone uploads their resource image i can pack it inside to make a full standalone recovery, it will boot even if it's the only partition available.
            if [ $up.post.type = $type.two.lazy.to_use_google ] || [ $up.post.type = $type.silly_question ];
            then mv $user.contact.up.post /.trash; set response($response.type = ignore);

I installed your TWRP. It flashed fine, tried to back up rom, but it said it failed. Tried again, still failed to back up. Told TWRP to reboot, then I lost signal to tv. Now it does not show anything. Powered down several times by pulling power plug, still nothing on the tv screen. This was all with HDMI connection directly into the tv HDMI port. Tried the AV cable, still same thing. Blue light comes on but nothing on the tv screen.

I am going to try to use your Rom dump, Smokez with Oman's factorytool. My only problem, is that I never get the rockchip tools to recognize my box. It recognizes my RK3188 boxes just fine.

                      How did you flashed ?

On the recovery log posted by Smokez, TWRP is working fine. I'm not seeing what it might have happen.

This is for the R89 Box - https://www.freak-tab.de/abdul_pt/TW...eelink_R89.img

This has the resource image as second ramdisk.

I flashed it with this app "Flashify" as per Smokez suggestion. It flashed OK, but failed when I tried twice to do a complete back up. When I told TWRP to reboot, that is when I lost all signal. It did not even try to reboot the box, it just went to a blank screen and said no signal.

I am not sure how your TWRP could have affected my R89 box, where there was an instant loss of video signal. No boot loop or anything, just instant loss of video signal to the tv.

I have been trying to get one of the rk batch tools to recognize this box so I can reinstall a new rom, but no go. I tried different cables, but no go. I am beginning to think that the micro switch for reset inside the av hole may be the problem for not being recognized by any of the batch tools.

Sorry, can help you with that. I'm not familiar with the rk32 flashing procedure. But should be pretty similar to the other RK soc's.
Change PC, cable, confirm USB 2.0, not win8...

Yes, TWRP shouldn't have any effect like the one's you describe.

Sorry for the late reply, I really don't know what happened as it flashed fine and successfully performed a backup to given location and restored fine too...

I may be able to help later this evening as I see that you've since managed to get the flash tool to recognise the box, it won't do anything until you get it to show up as rock loader device if I remember correctly but will have to check this this evening.

Just FYI abdul_pt the updated recovery image works perfect and both reboot and uboot are selectable, thanks for this although they both showed up as 4mb on my system and thought my resource partition was about 14mb this was without any compression etc, I may be wrong about that as haven't got around to trying a back up etc with the updated img.
