    Pipo P1 RileyROM 1.6 [RK3288]

This ROM is based on Pipo firmware dated 9/6/14. It is still version #489 in the file name, though...but #489 was originally dated 8/20/14. I'm not sure of what changes were made in this version.

    1. Download the ROM Kit for your version (wifi or 3g).
    2. Unzip the kit on your desktop, or wherever you downloaded it.
    3. Open the AndroidTool.exe
    4. With your tablet turned on, with USB debugging turned off (in settings), plug in the USB cable. Be sure to always use the USB cable that came with the tablet.
    5. Make sure the USB drivers are installed for the Rockchip device. (see the First Time User's Guide for details, if you are having trouble)
    6. You should see the tablet recognized by "Found One MSC Device" in the bottom of the tool.
    7. Click the "Switch" button to reboot the tablet to flash mode. The screen will turn black.
    8. Click "LowerFormat". It will count to 100% (very quickly).
    9. Click "Run".
    10. When the flash is finished, the tablet will boot into stock recovery and will format your partitions.
    11. First boot will take a little longer than usual...just be patient and watch the boot animation.
    12. Once the tablet boots to the system...you will have a fresh, rooted system to work with.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    English as default language
    init.d support added
    Busybox commands added
Multi-User support added without the need for Xposed Framework
    Google Play Store fixes added
    Reboot app by Petrus
Your choice of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12gb user app space (select the parameter file you want to flash) The default is 4gb
Optional TWRP Recovery included in the RileyROM folder, thanks to Abdul_pt

Thanks to Geekbuying.com for providing me this and many other Pipo tablets to develop.

The RK3288 firmware prevents me from auto installing TWRP Recovery, so you will need to do it manually. I recommend that you first flash stock recovery with the whole ROM. After first boot, you can then install TWRP Recovery by itself, by running the flash tool, and un-checking everything except recovery.img. Browse to the TWRP file in the RileyROM folder of the ROM kit by clicking on the box to the right of the recovery line in the flash tool. DO NOT ERASE IDB a second time...just "switch" to flash mode and flash the TWRP recovery image.

    Download wifi version
    Download 3G version

    Enjoy!!!!

Please.....Don't forget to donate....this helps me continue further ROM development.

I haven't had a chance to test it much. Can you see if the video glitch on Facebook is fixed? It's possible that it's the only thing changed....which would explain for the same kernel.

Did you use CPU spy to make sure that you tablet was in deep sleep?

                    nooo...
same behaviour of my old m6pro... noo solution so far...
It seems to me an HW engeenering issue due to how pipo build their mainboard, but I'm not sure.

hope for you that something more effective could be done on your new tablet by Pipo developers!

Probably the best thing is power off the tab during sleep time... And boot it again in the morning, the battery drain was about 0,6/0,7%/h in the last night

                        I agree with you.
This was exactly what I did with m6pro....

                          Pipo P1 - No Charge

                          Hi,

Following the demise of my Pipo M6 (just about everything went wrong with it and I finally thumped it - think Office Space!!), I decided following some new ROMs from Reilly for the P1 to get the P1. It arrived yesterday. I turned it on and it was pretty empty (very little software installed - it came via geekbuying).

It worked for the while and all seemed good. I left it and got up this morning, threw it in my bag for today. It was dead on opening on the bus at 8am.

OK I thought, give it a full charge and a new ROM (seeing some mention of standby issues on this thread) and I would be good again.

Tonight I plugged it in and got nothing. Looks like there was power (last drop) to show glimpse of "Pipo" logo, then black dead again. Charger does not seem to work now for some reason and I cannot turn it on even when charger is in. Black power pack is getting warm, so assuming it's working fine.

My experience with PIPO is now at rock bottom.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Actually I was just thinking, that my android account is logged in on this tablet, and probably facebook etc.etc. How am I supposed to send this back to China without being able to wipe it first ?
This is 2 tablets in less than a year from Pipo that are bricks! Bigger issue of my wife finds out I have a second bricked tablet! ;p(

One thing I do know is that these Pipo tablets are not designed to be totally drained of power. The battery circuits are very sensitive...there is a protection circuit in the battery pack. If you drain the battery, or attempt to use an incorrect charger, it will fry this circuit. Then you are bricked. The device has to be sent back.

I know that everyone wants a tablet you can leave on and rely on the deep sleep feature to keep you going. I've tried just about every trick in the book to get actual deep sleep to work as it is supposed to...short of rewriting the kernel. I hope to have kernel sources soon to try our hand at deep sleep.

I ALWAYS turn my tablet off...or plug it in to the charger when not in use. In fact as I'm typing right now, the tab is plugged in here at my desk with 100% power.

Flow, you may be able to revive your tablet with a long 30 second press of the reset button. Then charge your battery overnight. Then see if it boots.
