Finally it has arrived

• Manual

The device it self.. feels solid alu

Lets see.. Im impressed
-boot-up in about 5sec
-installing appz realy fast
-screen scale.. i could exactly state the borders of my tv (16:10)
-no issue connecting to routers on ch11/13
-shutdown button is standby.. hold button and real shutdown option comes
--while in shutdown.. ir-reader is still active, you can boot the system using remote

Hdmi set to 1080/60 (not to 'auto' detect)

After getting root: cputemp and android-tuner.. still report temp 2c
Cpu runs between: 312 and 1.8ghz //gov interactive // rockchip rk3288 flattened device tree
No pre-rooted Fw
It comes with xbmc 14 aplpha4 pre-installed // ram free: 1022mb
It only comes with standaard kitkat gui (that feels quite fast)

Rtlxl= ads work, vids jump ahead
Npo= ads work, live stream work, vids buffer problems
720/1080 trailers using spmc (5.1 only after tweaking)

Gaming: dont buy this unit for gaming.. The unit became realy realy hot, after playing riptide2 (smooth)
-it doesn't trottle down.. It seems

Antutu video tester 2.2 score: 320 (all 27 vids green)
Tronsmart mars g01 works

Thanks for your awesome review. Just before I was going to order one of these I read your review and saw that the RTLXL and NPO app video problems still haven't been fixed. For this reason I will go with Amlogic for once.

While its true that most firmwares dont run npo,veetle,iplayer,demand5,rtlxl app smooth (incl amlogic/rockchip/allwinner)
There are alternatives : xbmc/kodi addons named npo and rtlxl (there are more for dutch users, see superrepro)
The xbmc/spmc/kodi addons seem to work on most firmwares/devices.. Incl this mk903v

hmm... installed the fw update "12.30.2014" aka spiro
it seems to be a custom store (ilux stores) firmware...pre-rooted, kernel build date 24nov, version 1.0.0
-its probably not a upgrade/update fw.. to fix anything... but will do some testing (and post the results here

So was it any good? If not witch one do you recommend? Any custom roms out there?

Sadly.. 'spiro' fw is realy bad...
I can browse the web.. but 'kodi' and 'spmc 14" state 'no internet connection' (statusbar:wifi conn goes orange)
Looks like a real old fw..

I'm back to stock.. and still looking for something better (note:stock with root and some tweaking.. is quite good)

Hi, I've been trying to get Netflix to run on this machine without luck. On first run it plays for about 30 seconds then goes in to buffering and stays there,after that all videos go directly to loading screen only. I think it might be a cashe/buffering issue. Mike at Bosuntop says that it might be a area restriction issue, but i think that's unlikely because I've got about 6-8 other devices i use with Netflix on and off without any issues. Anyway I've reflashed 20141112 fw + 1126 update + root. Netflix still not running. But now that I've rooted, I'm thinking it maybe possible to tweak this thing to work with Netflix, but i don't know where to start. mitchell4you you mentioned some tweaking, any suggestions on this matter. Otherwise it feels like a really solid and well developed device i think.

Nope. Guess you're Netflix got the same behavior? If so go on Bosuntop google + page and post. I think this may be a bug on later batches, because most complaints i could find on this issue begins December. Although the stick has been around since September? I read someone downgraded fw also without luck.

I had some icon problems too they were to small since the ROM is a 1080p build but I root it and did some tweks and now the icons are nice.

I think mine has the November ROM, I tried Netflix and got nothing at all, it would just stick on Loading and never loaded. I have it attached to a Smart TV, so I don't plan to use it for Netflix or Hulu or any of the traditional media streaming apps, fortunately.

One thing that is troubling me, my MK903V is not showing up on the Play Store website. I can log in on the device, but I can't send apps from the computer. Anyone know why?

Edit: I cleared data and cache and it appears, but at the expense of making the MK809III disappear.
