Hi Everyone: I just bought the M8s s812 and wondering which build should I use ? Can someone please post the link also if i can know the OE version whether it is OE5 or OE 6 with Kodi 15 ?

You will soft brick device if you flash ZIPs as they are - except for OpenELEC-Amlogic.arm-M8S-5.95.3.3-update.zip
bootloader.img must be extracted from OpenELEC-Amlogic.arm-M8S-5.95.3.3-update.zip
Then replaced in each .zip before flashing

OpenELEC-Amlogic.arm-M8S-5.95.2-update.zip works with bootloader.img from OpenELEC-Amlogic.arm-M8S-5.95.3.3-update.zip

anyone know how to get android mx2 back to stock rom i have the files but it wont install back.

Hey guys i tried installing matricoms openelec on gotham then updated to 5.0.3 from within openelec but get the tty error. Is there anything i can do as i cant get stock back on or openelec.

You can try installing form zip file in the recovery menu. You will have to use the unopened zipped version to do it. Make sure you are using Codesnakes: https://github.com/codesnake/OpenELE....arm-5.0.3.zip
Do the toothpick factory reset and delete cache from the recovery menu first, then try installing from zip file.....

Yes, I did it several times but keep getting hang at M8 Logo. Two boxes flashed fine that 5.0.8 but rest of the 4 boxes keeps hanging. Is there any other way to flash from reset menu? If I pressed AV button without SD Card then I get menu and there is option to select from SD Card option. I looked every where but cannot find that S802 or S812 Chipset.

If any one has any solution then please post.

The only thing now is the OK button and the Vol- and Vol+ buttons don't work. The Vol buttons I couldn't care less about right now, I just need the OK button to mainly work. When I click OK the mouse cursor appears in the top left corner of my screen. Can that help anyone give me any ideas on what to map it to so I can get it to work?

Used this the other day as the 'OK' button was not working for me, think I plugged a USB keyboard in to start of with.

Where do I check that S812 or S802? I have checked box, its blue color box but cannot find anywhere.
I started my box and checking under Android Settings... Model number: K200, Android version 4.4.1, Build Number: KOT49H.20150827 test-keys
Kernel version: 3.10.33

I am very frustrated about this M8, I have flashed OpenELEC code to many M8 without any issues.

Please let me know how do I find out if my M8 has S812 or S802?

I cannot flash my M8 posted instruction on the above link. Those your files as well as OpenElec three files. Could you please provide assistance how to flash OpenELEC code into my M8 box. All I get M8 green logo and stuck, but cannot go further.. I have tried with few 8GB SD Cards but still all I get M8 logo. I format SD Card with FAT32 and copy all three files factory_update_param.aml , OpenELEC-Amlogi.M8.arm5.0.8-update.zip and recovery.img. Insert the SD Card into the slot and then push toothpick and then power on. Previously I did with few M8 for my co-worker and works great, so I do have experience but this time this is not working for me.

Also, how do I use a laptop to flash from my laptop?
