[ROM] OpenELEC for Amlogic-based TV boxes (M8, MXQ, TV110, MX2/G18)

I tried flashing my m8 box but it wouldn't enter the auto installer, but the menu as mentioned in post #1947 (found later when looking for a solution to my problem). At the time I tried a new sd card and a fresh copy of the rom which installed fine but after reboot it just gets stuck on the amlogic logo. I set a timer for a minute and tried to boot into recovery mode but no luck there. It connects to my router (lan ports lit up) but it doesn't seem to see it as its not giving it an ip address so I cant connect to it via putty

Have I bricked it?

Smilez & Jreed, use the link provided in post #1946 here, and download the .zip extract on a SDCard. Get the IP of the box and putty into it do not insert the SDCard as yet. after you are in, excute reboot recovery, the Android guy will come up and fall down, select wipe data/factory reset. When that is done insert the SDCard, putty back into the box and excute the same reboot recovery, the Android man will come up and load OE for you.

Yes, it did worked for me but I had to copy into my brand new SD Card and its working fine. However, I have formatted my last SD Card with ExFat. Do you know which type of format will work? ExFat or MS DOS Fat? I am bit confused here.

I have used the M8 version for my Zoomtak T8 - v1 and it is using the audio pass trough sample rates now, studio quality out of my box
The standard infra red interface isn't working so even with a tool like Key Locker the remote dont works.

I have ported OpenElec to the Beelink S82 Plus.

It's still a pre-release but you can try it and provide feedback:

Some buttons of the remote do not work: OK, mouse and maybe some other.

Wifi, wired network, accelerated video, audio, etc do work.

I actually just was reading some posts the last days - iam now owning an MXIII 2gb and want to install OE that will directly boot without android.

Having gone back through the posts I think I've answered my own question. Think I just read too much tonight about openelec and fried my brain

I'm running both 5.0.8 and 5.95.3.2 on two different boxes.

Hi i need help. Everytime i try flashing the openelec on my M8 box, it will get stuck during the process. It will get stuck at the same spot everytime. Is it possible that my box is bricked? Has anyone come across this? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance
