Ok different drivers are used for flashing and usb mode. The drivers that install easy with the tablet on are for usb mode.

for flash mode set-up. connect the tab to pc via usb. Use a high quality cable. The usb ports on the back of the pc are often mentioned as being more reliable, I use a laptop so cannot comment.

power down the tab. Now hold vol + pressed and then press and hold power for 3 to 4 seconds, release power and release vol +. This should start the tab in flash mode, the screen will be blank. Hopefully your PC will detect the tab and you can install the drivers from my ROM kit.

It is flash mode, I plugged it in and it didnt install drivers correctly, but then i went through the device manager and installed them and it says it is an rk30 or something device. so i went into the flash tool and it said it didnt find the device. My device is still in flash mode! I dont know how to get out or what i should do! I am a noob!

I have got it out of flash mode and I have the drivers installed but I tried it again and the flash program still says there is no device!

You can exit flash mode by press sing power for 10 seconds to force the cube off. Then you can start as normal by pressing power for a few seconds.

If the flash tool is not recognising the tab then you don't have the drivers right.

There is a good post here by damo on installing the drivers, a search should find it. Also look on slatedroid in the rk3066, cube forum.

Remember volume + and power for flash mode, it varies from model to model so some guides may say otherwise.

I figured it out! I didn't reply because I'm enjoying this tab! I flashed your own first rom because many people have vouched for it. I people are changing kernels and stuff to get your new one working. Thank you very much!

Let's have another try for the 1.7 kernel

kernel17.img.zip (3.2 meg)

download this, unzip and put it in the 900supersport folder replacing the existing.

Now try flashing just this kernel and see if it boots, if not flash the new boot loader and this kernel and see if it boots. If this does not boot with the new boot loader flash the original boot loader and 1.6 kernel (close then open the flash tool to reset then clear and set then check boxes as appropriate).

usual warning re sdcards backups etc apply.

Will update first post with this info if I can.

I'm hoping to send it off for repair tomorrow. The repair will be attempted by a fried from another forum and will be on a best endeavours basis. No guarantee of success and may e in break the tab.

thanks for uploading the new kernel.. but i really confusing rite know.. because im noob..
can you explain to me the step by step for flashing this new ROM, coz when i try it in first time ago i got blank screen.. with no detected device by your custom ROM flash tool.. please explain to me.. im rite now on your 1.0 custom ROM n so far facing so many probs.. like sporadics hangs, low wifi signal, deep sleep, and incorect battery status...
please help me..

The 1.1 ROM is in a safe state, if you download it and flash as it comes it will flash with the kernel from Cube's 1.6 ROM.

As a newb I'd suggest you leave the 1.7 for others to flash and report on.

I have a couple quick questions

Is it possible to hard brick this device? Is there an unbricking utility made for this device? Can you soft brick this device? And what is added in 900 supersports new 1.1 rom. Worth updating? I heard it resets when it sleeps?

All things are possible. If your USB port and your volume and power buttons work you should be able to recover.
No unbricking utility I know of but see my don't panicked thread about what to do if things go wrong.

My 1.1 ROM as follows:
Based on cubes 1.7 firmware.
Kernels from cubes 1.6 (default) and 1.7
Boot loaders for each kernel (may be required for the 1.7 kernel). Advanced users only until we have confirmation
Rooted
De-bloat
English by default
XML permissions fix for market
Busy box integration
init.d support
2 gig app space
CWM (a touch version also available)

how the way to enter the flash mode??

i have try with the Flash ROm tool method, and it cant enter the flash mode it just blank screen.. the flash ROM tool detect the device when i click the reboot the flash mode, the device become blank.. and it doesnt happen anything..

last time, i can enter the flash mode with this method when i flashing to your 1.06 custom roms..

and i also try the button method (pwoer + vol up button) and it also cant enter the flash mode..


and can you make this custom ROM become "update.zip" version type that i can flash via CWM recovery??

if you are currently rooted add the reboot.apk by petrus, a search on this site should find it. If you add this you can start the reboot app, select reboot to recovery and you are in recovery.
