Just out of curiosity, what difference would using the 1.7 kernal make over the 1.6? Are most of the changes in the bootloader?

Yea dw I've read through the thread, I just meant more in theory than anything, what changes would a new kernal typically bring rather than the bootloader?

Some fixes could be integrated into the kernel others will be within boot and system. My impression of the rk3066 is that other than a couple of well known major issues that have to be worked around the tabs seem pretty good. The big fixes are probably in kernel if we ever get them.

Must admit though i like the fact that the mini had a number of flaws that I've been able to rectify.

if you are currently rooted add the reboot.apk by petrus, a search on this site should find it. If you add this you can start the reboot app, select reboot to recovery and you are in recovery.

i still cant get into the flash mode..
i have download and installed reboot.apk by petrus,, this what i do :
i pluggin the usb cable to the laptop, i opened the reboot aplication, i choose reboot to recovery.. then the device is restart and come in CMW recovery mode.. i chosee reboot from CWM gui.. and the device reboot.. and then my laptop sounds "bong".. i opened the the flash tools and it described " FOUND RKAndroid mass storage USB".. then i clicked the reboot to flash mode button, and it pop up error messages..


what can i do...? or there is something i missed.. i really need to flash new ROM because i'm suffering with this device which alwasy deep sleep even in full batery power..

Sunday i've update my U30 GT H to your new ROM. i was coming from the 1.0.
Works great for me. No problem at the moment. No difference too... just access to the chinese store for apps. The boot screen is SUPERBE.

Why not try reboot to boot loader?

i have done the same procedure like above with i choose the reboot to bootloader.. but the devices become blank screen and the flash ROM tool doest detect RKAndroid mass storage USB.. and got the same erorr popup message like above..
then what can i do?? is that im stuck in this ROM.. OMG..

I think that means the drivers are not set-up correctly.

Try different combinations of cables and USB ports. The tab should not be on power while you try this.

In flash mode the screen on the tab should be blank and windows should detect ir . You then need to install the drivers to complete.

I read that it does not work with Jelly Bean, and if I link to the Play Store is shows not compatible..

Well apart from being based on Cubes 1.7 rather than 1.6, market fixes, busybox integration and unit.d support then no thereunto much difference.

I like Reckless Racing 2. Works great. its not the same as asphalt. Its more like micro machines in that it is a view from above instead of from behind. But graphics and game play as excellent. Levels as good fun and the drifting on the dirt tracks is awesome
