Pipo P1 RileyROM 1.8

I did it again to check this procedure, but!

After "Restore Missing Apps with data" there was no any accounts data.
Restored again "green" data files (accounts, wifi connections and passwords etc).
Got my accounts back but could not update anything on Google play.
Had to remove Google account and add it again and updates work.

Is there something I missed at restore procedure?

That's the problem with restoring the account-data as binary (green with the "101" symbol to the right).
If the System-app version changed then such restore can lead to troubles.
Only safe bet is to restore the XML-Data (yellow with XML symbol).

That is why I always set the accounts manually, wifi call logs and sms I always export as XML. For additional things (like calendar and bookmarks) I use a mix of Titanium Backup and Super Backup.

So to make it short - nope, you didn't miss anything in the procedure :-)

Well, most of stuff is restored and didn't need to set them from zero, just sync manually.

5GHz Wi-Fi

After installing 1.8 my P1 can't access any 5GHz Wi-Fi access points. It can now only do 2.4GHz ones. Is this an option that I can enable somewhere, or will it be fixed in an upcoming release ? Many thanks !!!

Mine never supported the AC standard... nor it is supported in the hardware specification on the manufacturer's site.

Not talking about 802.11ac here. 5GHz channels are also part of the 802.11n standard. An abundant number of devices support b/g/n today, like P1 does and are capable of using 5GHz channels.

I am pretty sure that the stock P1 software supports 5GHz channels, and that it has lost that ability after being flashed with ROM 1.8.

Battery issue on RileyRom 1.7

Hello!
First of all: way to go, man! Great work! Really.
Now question: in version 1.7 was an issue with the battery draining (WiFi version), so had to roll back to 1.6, wich is stabile. What's going on here?
With v.1.6 on in it my tab runs for 2-5 days witho recharging, depending on usage.

Battery

What about the battery?

I'm not sure about the battery. I haven't been able to reproduce the problem on mine.

One thing to try is to flash the 1.6 kernel with the 1.7 ROM and see if it makes a difference. Or vice versa.

I've bricked my pipo p1 (loader unticked)
symptoms Power+Vol+ tab is visible only while is pressed. If power source is on always "Green box"
Test 100% endless. in MASK mode "Prepare IDB failed" error

I have opened it and can't find any datasheet for flash (on picture attached)

Check your USB connection. Its a hardware failure of some kind.

I have tried 3 different cables.
when tab open connection is stronger.
even switched to XP from W7 x64, and diofferent USB ports. tryied different pc

Are you trying with the charger plugged in?
