Finally I found a solution to the ugly red frame that appears while using Google Chrome running on the rom in subject.
Change the following line in build.prop to:
    ro.build.type=user

I also have developer settings disabled.

    Update :
Sorry, I somehow mistook the thread with p1 version, but it may be useful here too.

I will add that build.prop change to future ROM's.

          Thanks for the info.

What about the option of turning off the modem like in M9 Pro?

That's a control I haven't been able to find. It isn't in build.prop...it's a setting in one of the system apk's, like finding a needle in a haystack.

It was in the Jellybean firmware...but it got left out of KitKat.

A pity. It was a nice way of saving battery...

Which version doesn't need to restart wifi after going to deep sleep?

                    1.5? 1.6?

                    It's fairly annoying...

                      I really don't know.

My wifi only version doesn't behave that way at all.

I have some build.prop tweaks I do for the wifi only versions that do a better job of disabling leftover 3G services. When I get my laptop out in a little while, I can send you a list of possible changes you can make...but only if you aren't planning on using the 3G functions at all.

Those changes are already present in the wifi only ROM. Another solution would be to flash the wifi ROM, if you aren't using 3G. See if that helps your battery consumption and solves the wifi problem coming out of deep sleep.

Can I use TWRP to flash these ROMs or do I always need to use 3rd party program on PC?

For numerous reasons, my ROM's are designed to be flashed from the included Rockchip Flash Tool in the ROM zip file. There's a First Time User's Guide.pdf file that gives you a complete set of instructions.

I'm on the same search than you. As I know, it's a manufacturer fault. The only way to do it posible could be to port a ROM from other tablet that had the Widevine DRM, but I'm not an expert

Im going to update to 1.9 on my P9 so I have few questions related to my earlier queries. After I have flashed using the Rockchip tool and booted once my device, can I make full NANDROID backup from TWRP to SD card and use it to restore back to clean 1.9 if needed and no need for Rockchip tool until newer ROM released? I ask this, cause I do all kinds of tests on my device and need to reflash it often and hate to boot my PC for that, or Im not even close to a computer when on the road.
