Just flash 1.04 stock ROM (do not forget to rename all folders from .rar archive on latin characters before and select Download Only mode in SP Flash Tool) and you'll be able to update to 1.05>1.06 OTA.
Still I dont't see how to do a Titanium Backup without Root. Titanium is Root dependent.
That's a 5 min. job.

Well now when I try to download the stock rom on to the device, it doesn't do anything, it just greys out and no action occus in the bar below. I swear the drivers are the most fail I have ever come across. I thought the HTC ones were bad.

edit: I have backed up the NVRAM btw Edius, obviously i can't back the IMEI. I hoping this could be fixed seeing as I know the IMEI number ( I hope its referring to the number, rather than a bunch of system files ).

Renaming folders from V1.04 .rar archive is necessary..if you will keep original folder names (chinese letters) you'll receive a 'BRom error' when SP Flash Tool try to load Scatter file....so, rename damn folders.
To reflash 1.04 (obviously you are doing something wrong now) please do so:
1. Install VCom drivers (seems you already did, so relax)
2.Turn Off tablet.
3. Downlad and extract V1.04 ROM onto your PC, in a folder "ROM 1.04"
4.Look inside of this folder and you'll see 3 new folders with chinese characters on name....look inside at the content and rename all these folders into "ROM", "SP Tool", "Drivers".
5.Open SP Flash Tool and load Scatter File (point to folder ROM and you should start seeing that file).
6.Select "Download Only" mode or "Firmware Update" (the same thing and IMEI will be preserved)
7.Press "Download"
8.Connect tablet in Off condition to your PC and should see in the bottom progress bar working ...when will reach 100% you'll see an big and green OK mark.
9.Turn off SP Flash Tool and disconnect tablet.
10.You are OK.

I hope you'll manage to flash factory Rom if you'll follow this step-by-step tutorial.

I have done all of the above, however the progress bar never occurs, it just greys out files I am trying to download to the device.

I haven't however chosen firmware update in the drop down.

I am still convinced the drivers are screwed. I tried the signed and unsigned driver in the driver set posted on these forums.

BEWARE OF VIRUS!!!!! iRoot ships with shopperpro rootkit, I am stuck now trying to rid myself of it. Its quite a piece of shit.

Update: I have finally remove it the virus/spyware depending on what detects it. Tip if you have the rootkit virus/spyware present, use adwcleaner, it was the best tool I found that did it cleanly ( kaspersky even failed to quarentine it ).

@Riddick, keep Power button pressed for over 20 seconds, with button pressed connect Cube T9 to USB port.
Obviously, before that prepare SP Flash Tool and press Download.
Try with white USB cable found in box or with a quality one.
You can also try to change USB port.

WOW, to clarify for anyone else that is going to try this.

1. Prepare SP_Flash Tool
- Load Scatter File
- In the drop down below 'Scatter-loading File, select either 'Download only or Firmware Upgrade' ( I chose the later ).
- Click the Download Button just below the Download tab
2. The tablet MUST BE ON WHEN YOU ATTACH THE USB TO THE PC.
3. HOLD THE POWER BUTTON UNTIL YOU SEE THE ACTIVITY BAR Below your selected files
4. You will know when the flashing is complete because a pop-up appears with a big tick.

I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY UPGRADED TO 1.06, with OTA from 1.04 -> 1.05 -> 1.06

I feel like I have ran a marathon.

Well we got there in the end, BIG Thanks to Edius, Riley and da rest, couldn't have remained sane withouts yas.

Now back to the real fun, rooting da device AGAIN.

Dare I ask, how can I root it and end up with SuperSU binaries. *too soon?*

Good news, since the re-install of the stock rom, I am now able to boot into riley's CWM recovery mode.

Now all I need to do is get SuperSU either installed via SD Card, or via ADB?

I need some assistance in the next step. Damn I feel I am close.

BEST News ever. Steps for those wanting to root their device after stock rom installation.

1. I used iRoot, *tip when installing iRoot on your pc, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T ACCEPT ANYTHING ELSE to be installed. I made that retarded mistake with my trigger finger in a hurry to get the damn thing installed. It will install A VIRUS!!! which is bundled with iRoot.

2. Once you have rooted your device I then installed SuperSU, I own da pro version, don't ask me why, bought it like a lifetime ago.

3. Once SuperSU is installed you will then be able to install the binaries via the app.

4. Now that I have rooted the device exactly as I want, I can now do a titanium backup which requires root.

Now to test MTKDroid tool to see if I can now backup the NVRAM/IMEI

Can you post a pic of riley's CWM please? I flashed CWMrecovery_img but I'm not sure if my recovery is CWM or stock recovery?
How you rooted your T9? Vroot maybe?

MTKDroid failed again. Below is a screenshot of what i see when I boot into CWM Recovery MODE -



I maybe forced to give MobileUncle MTK Tool a go. I am quite reluctant, however from what i have read it works if your device is rooted.

P.S Rileys CWM Recovery image is in the T9 Custom Rom fileset. He has put everything you need for the T9 in a sexy bundle.

MobileUncle also failed, the IMEI backup when clicked says its 'not supported.'

I am assuming this has to do with the model, rather than the chipset.

Since the rebuild, seriously the performance is incredible.

This tablet shits on my iPad gen 3.

The 1.06 firmware for me seems to have improved the tablet performance. I wish I could read Chinese it would be nice to know what is in the change log.

When root with iroot, this pogram autoinstall a root permission chinesse App (like supersu).
How you installed supersu? Do you delted the chinesse "supersu" App?

You'd rather install SuperSU by the APK file and THEN remove the chinese app.

Great! I've done it. My error was to delete the chinesse app first.
I've installed supersu, load binaries and then delete the chinesse app. It worked.
Now I have me T9 rooted and supersu installed. Thanks a lot!
Now I have to discover how to backup my imei.

To all the people having touchscreen issues, I found an app on playstore called "DIGITIZER BOOSTER". It only works on rooted devices but it says that this app will perform touchscreen response.
I didn't try it because now I'm not having any issues with my T9, but I think it could help people in this forum with touchscreen problems.
