If you have wi-fi the GPS should work, but the purpose of the sim card is to make it accessable anywhere there is a signal from the cell tower ...just like a phone.

The answer is no: GPS can work without wifi and without SIM. To faster fix the satellites for the first time it is suggested to enable wifi/or sim card.

Install fasterGPS can improve use of GPS on rooted devices.

Perfect, thats the answer I wanted to hear.

BTW, CES 2015 is about to start, do you think there will be new stuff worth to consder against the T9?

I don't know , but you can wait and see, at least the T9 price could reduce a little bit more.

So what is the situation about grainy screens with CUBE and for the T9?
Is this still an issue with the T9?

I should have mine by mid week. I will report back.

It must be a situation for a few, but not the majority. Giouncino said he got 5 later version 9X into his office, no problem.

Hopefully with the T9, Cube has got the QC issues connected with this corrected.

Thank you, I cant wait to read your review.
                  Where did you get it?

I am really surprised that I am not seeing more reviews about this chipset MTK8752 and for the T9 in particular.

Maybe theres more action with the Chinese language?

Please go back and read posts 117-119 in this thread.

I got mine from geekbuying.com, but the price has now gone back up.

Still too new for a lot of true reviews in English.

I hope to see a true and detailed review about this tablet, with pluses and minuses.
As I can see on Y!T, T9 have an outstanting boot time( 14-15").. with approx. 40% shorter than 9X.
I hope Mediatek has solved issue with battery stuck percentage issue on this tablet...and maybe some working NTFS/exFat drives.
If these annoying glitches are solved, my 9X will be sold and buy T9 for me and a (upcoming)T8 for my daughter.
I'll wait for your honest opinion.

I do not recall seeing the mentioned issues with the 9X I had. Give me a bit more detail on what to look for, especially the NTFS/exFAT issue.

Hi, I have a T9 on the way to my home. Expected to arrive next week. I can't wait to have it on my hands.
I want to compare it with my actual Onda V989 and with an FNF ifive Air coming to my home too.

Cube talk 9x has a boot time of 25 sec.

                            On cube talk 9x:
The battery stuck problem is no more present with latest patch
NTFS is working for me too

I finally broke down and purchased the T9 at coolicool for US261.64.
They had the lowest price I could find and I have already purchased stuff from them so I know they are safe.
                              Now the waiting game begins.

On 9X (at least on my specimen) battery percentage will stay locked if I let tablet on idle for a few hours (8-10 hours) and after ~40 min(maybe 1hour) of use will start to decrease pretty quickly.
Some time ago I let tablet on idle for ~4 days with 60% battery ... after that guess what .. battery still on 60% but after 2 hours on Youtube has sudden shutdown at ~40%.
I think it will be ok to leave it switched on overnight and check battery on morning .. will be fine to decrease 2-3% in 8-12 hours.
Cube 9X does not knows to use NTFS and exFAT format to access files larger than 4 GB (720p or 1080p movies) .. would be enough if you format a microSD card in NTFS and in exFat format and check if it is recognized.
