Any help would be appreciated - even if you think I should just throw it away.
I'm curious, who was the vendor? Did it come in the original packaging or a styrofoam package taped shut?

I ordered from Amazon and received one wrapped in styrofoam. The first thing I noticed was that there was no A/C charger to plug the USB wire into. The second thing I noticed was that it didn't work. I got into the play store once, then never again. I was also getting the equivalent of a blue screen. Mine went back. I think the vendor was cozy something.

The vedor was Ownshop, the only seller who would ship to Sweden directly (the others needed a forwarding service). The package was a see-through plastic one, with the colors green and black on the lower part. It said "Mini Tv" at front as well as the text also placed on the device itself "Dual-Core A9 processor". All-in-all it looked genuine and it wasn't taped or anything, no missing items.

Shalo, glad to hear it wasn't the same vendor, mine came off shady. You got the OEM packaging. Hopefully you'll find someone that can help you.

Yeah well, my device has failed me now - won't even boot and I fear it's bricked (can't even boot into flash mode with reset button)
guess china crap is still, well..china crap

I bet unbricking it would require some highly professional tools only an electrician would own? yes?

MK808 Skype with Logitech C310 USB Cam.

                      Folks

Just tried Skype with my Logitech C310 USB Cam and glad to report that it works 100% with Finless 1.5a Custom ROM. Plugged in the USB Cam and rebooted MK808, no additional downloads required.

                      Great Firmware - thanks Bob

                        Problems installing finless 1.5

                        Hi,

I bought my mk808 from geekbuying and the first days everything just works fine. Till 2 days ago I only got the splashscreen "android". So I looked for a solution on the internet and it seems that installing finless 1.5A could be a solution. So I donwload everthing and read the instructions. but when I clicked "reboot to flash mode" button in the flash tool I got the message "device can not do flash mode, because it is not msc device". Can someone please help me out. Thanks

You've probably figured it out by now but anyway..

I'm no expert but I've flashed many different roms numerous times on my MK808 and not once did I need to click reboot to flash mode. Just plug the MK808 into the PC via the OTG port while holding down the hidden flash mode button. I guess you did that already for the flash tool to detect the device.

If the drivers for the MK808 are installed and it's in flash mode anddd the flash tool is detecting your device then just click erase nand, once that is done click flash rom, it will reboot once done. That is all

My problem is that after I booted up my mk808, it would randomly reboot, crash and just become plain unusable. This was on stock ROM.

I flashed Finless 1.5A Rom to see if this issue could be software related - it booted up fine the first time, then it would crash even more often than it did on stock ROM.

It boots up fine (usually), then after maybe 30 seconds - it crashes and stops responding.
The crashes are either a complete freeze/hang, or the screen goes green.
I only have a mouse/keyboard inserted (all-in-one device) and i have tried with other input devices as well - no luck.

I have tried getting to Google Play to download an app to control the CPU speed (In case this is the problem) - but my mk808 crashes before I can download, even before I can click on the app icon.

I consider myself a techie, and this is actually the first time I have ever asked for help on a forum - someone, please help. I can't return it as I live in Sweden and I bought it from amazon.com (USA). It would cost too much to send it back.
Any help would be appreciated - even if you think I should just throw it away.
Make sure you click "Erase Nand" before flashing the ROM. It it set up to repartition it. I did not do that the first time I flashed Finless 1.5a and had the same symptoms you are describing...
