I think this is more from a site that doesnt have Dev's and do ROMs or an understanding of what it really is about! I mean he IS the owner of another Web site right??

More or less, they sell the GV-20, "a verified MK808", and promise new and updated firmware more than a month ago...

Hi all,

My first post on this forum and firstly thanks to Bob for the effort in getting the MK808 to a ROM stage where things appear to have been vastly improved over the stock ROM.

I have a few questions though after flashing my device to V1.5a:

1. On the bottom right of the loading screen it says V1.5, is this correct or should it say V1.5a?
2. Once booted I am finding that I cannot use the Play Store or the web browser. With both, the screen goes black or Green or Blue upon launching and I have to reboot? Is this related to the screen problem or something new? I tried this on 2 brands/sizes of TV and the same thing happens! For info, You tube app works fine?????
3. I attempted to reflash the device but now my PC will not detect it to put into flash mode?

Any help greatfully received.

I have been using it one day and say my opinion.

Now i can see video on stream, with stock rom was impossible. Not good wifi still but usable and more stable.

Antutu Test with this new ROM show 7300 points, before 6300.

The only trouble i have seen is with DLNA App on the ROM, when i playing video and exit, reset android device :-/

has anyone heard of or seen a mk808 that simply stutters on all audio? i have one that is doing it. I am using 1.5A sound like a defective unit?

It is not defective... in my case switching off the hardware decoding solved the problem.

great update, keep up the good work Bob, it's working great for me now. One thing I'd like to ask you people here, as my router is right next to the TV/MK808 setup and I want to use it as torrentbox, are there any tried and tested USB->Ethernet adapters you recommend? I have the cheap blue KY-RS9600 that one finds all over **** but it doesn't work at all. FYI I use the Belkin hub shown here: www.****.com/itm/251105319314 that has a good quality AC adapter (going up to 3.5A) to power up the MK808 + any peripherals.

Today got my mk808 and straight out of the box i installed this fine rom. Now few hours of testing and im quite liking it. Maybe i didnt see the bad sides of this device since i got this rom first. Wifi not dropping etc... Thanks For ur work Bob!

Wifi still sketchy and no usb ethernet.

ver1.5a more stable, corruption appears fixed. Have tried all other roms as well. This one works? the best, but still not usable.

wifi works for 10 minutes then goes down to 1mb and fails.
turn off wifi . . . .turn wifi back on sometimes comes back up but only for a few minutes.

usb generic usb 2.0 to ethernet (confirmed working on a Uhost U1a)
on MK808 I turned off wifi. connected usb ethernet. turned on ethernet from setup. setup switch changed from off to on. then switches off by itself after 5-10 seconds. Also tried to disable wifi. powerdown. connect usb ethernet. powerup and has same auto turnoff issue. The back of the usb to ether packaging has a model SD-ADA24008.

I have read about other with same issues. . . bad batch?

Dear All, I'm new on this Forum and first of all I would like to thank you for the work you did on this matter..

I would ask to you guys a couple of question about this rom :
- In this rom there is uinput module enabled? (I would like to use the Drodmote app)
- What kind of Camera I've to buy to have Skype / Camera APPS working for Audio/Video Service?

so immediately bought the Server App through the Play Store


very happy to report that DroidMote is working well on MK808. (I have the stock firmware mk808_300j1-27-10-2012)


the client is installed on LG P500 (also on stock Froyo..)

Yes, there´s no doubt that it's working. You can also set it to autostart in settings.

But, can you get the keyboard working with non latin characters?
