Anyone working on firmware for the Eny M8S Amlogic S812 square box?

I flashed "em8s-eng-1114-20150523.rar" that have firmware version KOT49H.20150519 test-keys, the model number is M8S, but when I want to flash other stock firmware versions with TWRP it says "This package is for n200 devices; this is a k200", this is very strange cause I have n200 device! Now I'm confused. What is the solution for this problem please?

Klyston,you are totally welcome!! so far this http://pan.baidu.com/wap/link?uk=121...988139&third=0 firmware is working perfect for me with all issues fixed and a great performance . hopefully a developer like bob can create a custom rom based on this one adding some tweaks and improvements.!!!

Ok folks, finally I confirm that version "m8s_ap6330_8g2g_150307_SD_kodi" with build nummer: KOT49H.20150307 test-keys 100% works and is stable, there are 5 files that need to be extracted on empty SDHC card, then need to press reset button behind the av with toothpick-method then power on. The download link provided by others is very slow like 1 day download time, this link is much faster but you need to register account: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1dD0Ey9V

what speed do you get through ethernet and 5ghz wifi ?? im running a 100mb virgin line every other device gets 100 except my new m8s box which runs at 42mbs any clues ?

Cool not much about that's any good to be honest. Very disapointing backup service :-(

Might give it a go see if it helps, my 5ghz wifi is on a par with 2.4ghz which it shouldn't be as everything else runs a 3rd faster

Latest aml sources + Kodi final + hevc patches, rooted... nothing special. Device itself works pretty nice. Has to be installed from sdcard because board check is not n200 on my firmware (my recovery.img needs to be on sdcard).

This is the only firmware that I've been able to install on my M8S is stane1983's. I tried all the various other ones in this thread and all failed with verification errors.

stane1983's firmware installed ok via SD card however my box now hangs during startup. Occasionally it makes it past the launcher loading but then hangs within a few minutes. Worst still, I can no longer boot to the recovery menu. Toothpick pressing the reset switch inside the AV socket for 10 or even 90 sec does nothing apart from reboot the box.

Can I get back to recovery mode?

I contracted the **** seller for help ( http://www.****.co.uk/itm/3514346796...1ac311ba2&cp=1 ) and they sent me a big IMG file along with video instructions to use the USB burning tool. I just need to get myslef a USB-A to USB-A cable first. But will this still work?

For info I have a attached a photo I took of the inside of my M8S. Also the original firmware details before I broke it.

I'm starting to come to terms with the fact there just sh#t with no backup or support even in this forum, not much about the installed software very very basic

and the mediabox front end is clunky infact horrid, flashing is so easy this reminds me of the copied chinese note phablet (can't even remember the brand it was that rubbish)

Roms seem to be under ground for the box sellers to keep a hold off ( i don't sell boxes just want a decent smooth rom)

I guess we will never see CM12 upwards EVER ??
