AFAIK the gui of WeTek Theater is being re-organized and will be included in the KitKat OTA that should arrive anytime soon
I find myself very good using Kodi with Aeox Nox + Live TV mod (that make it look like an Enigma 2 device)
Thanks man! I can't wait.

How's your hard drive partitioned and formatted? On aosp based roms only the first partition will be mounted.WeTek Play

I did a bit into SPMC's question, it messes up playback with this kernel because it doesn't handle properly /sys/class/video/axis file.
If you wanna use SPMC you can flash this zip that will set 664 permissions to the file above, so SPMC won't be able to edit it.
Remember that if you run Kodi it will set 666 permissions on it (I think latest nightlies don't have this behavior anymore).
I haven't noticed any different video output between Kodi and SPMC, so I think it's upscaling as well, the thing I liked is that it has auto framerate enabled. I'd like to try SPMC a bit more but I noticed that Live TV mod for Aeon Nox doesn't work on it, if you have any hint on that I might try it a little bit deeper.
I found this addon modified to work on any Amlogic, it wasn't working with Kodi anymore so I modified it to make it work with Kodi and now Kodi can switch to 24fps as well
Here you can find the modified version, and here the diff with my modification.WeTek Play

OE is pure Linux so is more flexible than Android. On Android you need a drive with a primary partition, or vold won't load it. Anyway, post logcat if you have problems.WeTek Play

Can you try to install busybox from this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ricson.busybox put it in /system/xbin so it will overwrite cm's and see if you have an "hdparm" command?
In case try this command when the disk is unused "hdparm -y /dev/block/sda", if it puts it to sleep you can put something like "hdparm -S 241 /dev/block/sda" in one of the files under /system/etc/init.d which will spindown the drive after 30 minutes of idle.
If it doesn't I'll enable hdparm in cm's busybox but not every drive work with hdparm, most of wd doesn't and they require spindownd configured to trigger sg_start --stop
Unfortunately, I have WD disk, and also - I am not expert and don't know how to use those commands.
Therefore, I hoped that you will find the best way how to implement such functionality in next releases of your FW.
So - if you will have some additional time to investigate/implement it - that would be really great!
Thanks in advance!

Flash this zip from recovery, once booted to android use a root capable file explorer (like Solid Explorer for example) and edit "/system/etc/spindown.conf" to fit your needs.
The default configuration is set-up to spin down "sda" disk after 3600 seconds (60 minutes) using sg3-tools.
You don't need to flash the zip again if you do a rom update because I've added the addon.d backup script.
Note: your drive have to ne able to be set to sleep using "sg_start --stop /dev/block/$disk", I've tried it with 3 drives, 2 WDs and 1 Seagate and it worked.WeTek Play

Kodi 14.2 BETA 1 apk
This is a Kodi 14.2 BETA 1 based build with two patches added that add support for automatic frame rate switch (you have to enable it in settings) and that should behave better with the black screen bug.
Since it's been signed with different keys respect those from Kodi build server you won't be able to install it over the older Kodi but you'll have to uninstall it.
Take a backup of /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi folder before uninstalling or Android will delete it and you'll lose your configuration; restore it after installing the new APK.
Download
I'm using this /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml file
Code:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <advancedsettings> <network> <cachemembuffersize>20971520</cachemembuffersize> </network> <samba> <clienttimeout>30</clienttimeout> </samba> <network> <readbufferfactor>4.0</readbufferfactor> </network> <pvr> <minvideocachelevel>5</minvideocachelevel> <minaudiocachelevel>20</minaudiocachelevel> </pvr> </advancedsettings>

* ROM (CM11) 2015-03-10
- CEC improvements (codesnake's OE fix)
- Mapped CEC red/green/yellow/blue buttons to power/home/menu/search
- upgrade tvheadend and oscam with the native (android ndk) ones
- updated dvb code (same code as latest OE)

Notes: run it with Kodi that I posted yesterday (and that you can find in the second post) with Aeon Nox skin + Live TV mod and you will get a very good experience, specially if using CM11 or, if you don't mind it being a bit more laggy, ATVWeTek Play

My fingers are itching to install your CH11. But I am still scared if its worth it or to wait for the new stock one. My questions are:
1. does it perform better than the stock firmware - android apps, tv experience and kodi 1080p, no micro jerks, auto RCU fixed?
2. I'm using Eminence Skin now for its simplicity and style. Does kodi perform well with this skin?
3. After upgrade cann I still use the stock firmware if I later choose to?
Your opinion will help. Thanks.

1. it's certainly snappier than the actual stock 4.2 based, if you install Kodi from the second post you will have a good experience, included auto frame rate switch if you enable if (for 24fps videos for example), I never had the RCU problem but I always used my roms so I don't know if it's something broken in stock.
2. I don't know about that skin, I use Aeon Nox + Live TV Mod; it's not as fast as on my x86_64 HTPC but it's not so bad
3. Sure, you can take a backup in cwm of your running stock rom (do it on the external storage) and restore it later, or just flash stock rom back.WeTek Play
