      I'll try it later, maybe tomorrow - if this works well it will be great. I reverted back to Stock because of some other serious problems.

      There is no doubt, WeTek is great, it didn't take up to 2 days to deliver my parcel in Germany. Support is just excellent and you have been working yourself out to make sure we are satisfied.

      Thanks Troy and WeTek support.

        Suspend/shutdown

        Hi. I just flashed the box with your update.

        1 - suspend by pressing the power button - ok

        2 - shutdown by holding the power button down for more than 1 second and choose "Power off" from the menu - ok.

        When shutting down it takes a while so give it some time to allow it to completely shutdown even if the power led is red the Lan button stays on for a while. When the Lan led goes off, signifies that shutdown is complete.

        Good job Troy!

        Now its time to work on stability and cpu usage. I trust you can do it, you always had.

        Thanks for this update but please do not forget to include all the small updates you have made to the main ROMs so they don't get lost.

        Thanks man!

          In going to try the AEON you talked about now. I found a MOD version, quite promising.

            you can't do anything on the cpu usage, Android is not OE that has nothing but Kodi running, If you need speed you can only run OE, Android has too much stuff running in the background to handle everything properly.

            You could try to disable multitasking (in developer options set max number of running applications to 1 or 2) but system services (like the window server, etc.) will still be alive in the background eating resources.

              Ok I'll try that.

              I installed your keyboard.xml (copied to user data) but nothing happens. I also installed a Aeon Mod for kodi (copied it to "addon/neon 5" folder but nothing happens.

              You have any Idea why kodi is not responding to these changes?

                * ROM (CM12) 2015-03-14
                * ROM (Android TV) 2015-03-14
                * ROM (CM11) 2015-03-14 - Real 1080p output

                - cm11 only: you can flash the included "Real 1080p output" zip and with one modification I did it's usable even with HD live tv channels and picture quality is another planet, like OE BTW there's still a bit high cpu load since this ain't OE and Android has a lot of stuff in the background taking resources, to see cpu usage don't use the osd as it will increase it but use "htop" command from serial console or wifi adb (FYI I get ~70% on both cores on a ~10mb/s HD channel, no visible drops or skips; and 40% on SD channels). If you care about IQ above all the rest you should really give it a try.
                - new Tvheadend with DVBCSA
                - fixed a CEC related problem where the device was being properly turned off but immediately turned on again
                - "power menu -> power off" now put the device in suspension (like stock rom), remember that if you have scheduled recordings you will miss them because the device won't wake up, just use the normal standby.
                - updated upstream sources

                  wrong path? on Android it's "/sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/keymaps/", if you mean the livetv mod for Aeon Nox Helix, install aeon nox from kodi and then copy the patch, it works, that's what I'm using.

                    Hi CT,
                    I'm interested in buying a wetek play with the DVB-T tuner using your ROM and Kodi.
                    I live in Italy. Also you, I think.
                    Have You tried the dvb-t tuner or you use only the dvb-s tuner ?

                    I've already used in the past your CM11 rom with an ainol aurora ii and I remember your good work.

                    Comment

                      I have both, the DVB-T is in my kitchen that replaced an Edision Argus Mini 2 in 1, tuner sensitivity is like that decoder (that is kinda good), maybe even a bit better. All of them run this experimental CM11 build and since yesterday with the real 1080p patch on it, you practically have OE with Android apps (a bit slower since OE is very lightweight)

                      @all

                      I managed to find a way to use real 720p and real 1080p resolutions, if you set a 720p resolution fb will be 1280x720 without ppscaler engaged and if you select 1080p it will be 1920x1080, always without ppscaler (that degrades image, actually I find better using 720p than amlogic's 1080p + ppscaler, so letting them upscaling the 720p signal instead of my tv).
                      To change resolution you'll have to perform a reboot because I have to set up some surfaceflinger stuff that is executed at boot (to map the proper window size)

                          * ROM (CM11) 2015-03-15 - Real 1080p output

                          - Updated CWM in the op with a new one working with CEC remote (and with support for real 720p/1080p resolution)
                          - Changes under the hood required if you flash the real 720p/1080p zip. Now flashing that zip will allow you to use native framebuffer resolutions for 720p and 1080p resolutions. If you change resolution from Android's Display Settings perform a reboot to apply the change (since some low level stuff changes Android has to boot from scratch to use the new resolution). Both resolutions will give you a native, not upscaled by ppscaler output. For example I have a better IQ in 720p and my TV's scaler than the default behavior of using Amlogic's ppscaler. 1080p with full hd content is night and day compared to before (UI will be slower and CPU usage will be higher because it has to move twice the pixels as before but if you don't mind about uber speed it's worth a try)... I guess WeTek Play is the only MX devices running Android at real full hd

                          If you're not going to use the optional 1080p zip you can skip this build

                              Thanks Troy, the keyboard.xml was in the wrong path - directly in the user data. I have made corrections and they are both, keyboard.xml and Aeon Neox, working properly.

                              I have also noticed that there are overall improvement (don't know what you tweaked) in speed and cpu usage. HDTV channels work great, movies are smooth, my Youtube app is working just fine. The major thing that made my day was the "Power off" and "shut-down" you just created. Thanks for the excellent job.

                              I had the CEC problem of automatically turning on the box but I notice in one of you last posts that it has been fixed. Though I haven't installed it yet but I am confident that I will be ok.

                              If you have time, try look the following:

                              - Vevo app is choppy
                              - the "Power off" menu blinks if you hold down the power off button - the menu should just display and cancel further power button presses.
                              - in the "power off" menu, it is not possible to use the remote to navigate up/down so I had to use the mouse.
                              - TED Talks behave abnormally when you choose to watch in HD.

                              Just one more question; do you know why the youtube app is not getting 1080p videos? even if I select one they are always in 720p.

                              Thanks.

                              Comment

                                Because amlogic video libraries don't use adaptive playback that is what is required for youtube 1080p.

                                The power menu doesn't blink, it's just that the remote spawns commands one after the other and you can't do anything about that, it's how Android input system is done. If you try to keep pressed the power button on the box you will see that it doesn't happen.

                                I don't have any problem navigating in the power menu, only the reboot type (normal or recovery) can't be chosen but if you press OK it will reboot, if you press MENU it will reboot to recovery.

                                edit: tried both Vevo and Ted, they don't work because they don't use any of the Android Media APIs (MediaPlayer or Stagefright), but use a proprietary media player (Vevo for example uses something called "NexPlayer") that, obviously, has no hw acceleration.
                                It's an app problem.
                                There should be some Vevo and Ted Talks addons for Kodi if I'm not wrong.
