I wish to order a replacement Redmi Note 3 Pro 3GB/32GB international ROM, and have it sent via DHL. Please advise, thank you.
I felt it important to share my experience, as a warning. I'm just wrapping up a sale/refund from GB. It's been a negative experience, and I urge anyone thinking of buying from GB to consider if you are up for a similar experience should you need warranty service.
Here is how choosing Geekbuying has worked out for me.
Redmi note 3 pro 3/32 international (and DHL) paid for Aug 28 2016 $239.97 CDN
Fake tracking number issued by geekbuying 2 days later using baffle-speak.
One week later, item is finally shipped with real (and different) tracking this time.
30$ duty paid on arrival. Total for phone is $268.97 now.
Phone is buggy from the start, cannot connect to PC, cannot unlock bootloader, cannot connect to MiPC software. Cannot connect/flash in any way.
Phone dies outright Oct 25, and needs to be returned to factory for service. Baffle-speak via email with various GB employees continues.
Device sent back Oct 30, 2016, return post fee is 50$. It's risky at best. Geekbuying will refuse phones shipped via courier because of duties at their end. They will also refuse a package with actual value listed because again, duties. So, you must ship your phone back with a 30$ value for them to accept it. If it's lost in transit, you get $30, the end.
Phone cost is now $318.97
Geekbuying receives phone Jan 6, 2017. I am amazed, I expected never to see the phone again. In the end, I didn't. Read on, if you dare.
Geekbuying informs me that the phone is indeed dead and cannot be repaired. They offer to refund me, less a $15 "restocking fee" (WTF, for a device that does not work?) and buy another from their wide selection. I suggest they are not following their warranty as posted, and request that as per warranty, they send me an exact replacement at their expense. GB then switches their story to "the phone is DOA, we follow warranty 7 days please look" linking me to their warranty page. Phone cost is now $333.97
Geekbuying refunds me $203.52 (pending)
Cost of experience with geekbuying is $130.45, and I have no phone. What a terrible experience. Not to mention, I could not wipe the phone before shipping back, and it has everything on it. For all I know, they got it to boot and harvested all my personal data.
I know many have had a good experience with their RN3 and geekbuying. I liked the phone, and will buy another somewhere else. But I will never ever buy from geekbuying again. I suggest anyone reading this consider that you will get very poor quality service from this seller if something goes wrong.
