    and again thanks

Followed your advice above and all sorted. Xfile explorer downloaded and a little bit of a search and deleted the com files as advised and full market visability. Downloaded the stock apps and installed.

My kids think I am a whiz at this now

    Cheers
    Paul

Not tried this ROM yet but does it give access to UK specific aps, eg the UK bbc news app and tv24.co.uk's listings guide?

v1.1 seemed to think it was a US based ROM

Yes you do get all the UK apps, im in UK and according to your location
Entered in settings you get the market based on that.

        IPlayer etc all work

Do you need to go back to factory settings if you upgrade from version 1.1?

When you run the rkupdate in the firmware folder there is a box Erase Idb, just click that first than when it has finished click run to install the firmware

                    Use adb to fix market

So we have to clear that and reboot.
YOU DO NOT EVER NEED TO REFLASH OR DO A FACOTRY RESET TO FIX THIS!!!!
                    DO the following
                    a) Again using a file manager that has root access go in and delete the follow folders completely
                    com.android.vending (not com.applib.vending!)
                    com.android.vending.updater
                    com.google.android.gm
                    com.google.android.gsf
                    b) Reboot and do nothing else but run the Market. YOu should get a prompt asking you to accept the Google terms of service. If you did not you did something wrong. Do it again. If you do get the prompt, accept and now the Market should work fully with TONS of apps showing up.
                    Or using adb simply issue:
                    $ adb shell rm -r /data/data/com.android.vending /data/data/com.android.vending.updater /data/data/com.google.android.gm /data/data/com.google.android.gsf
                    --

Thank you Finless (+ Damo) etc... 1.3

Followed the instructions in the zip file - made sure I read them carefully!
Had to Clear Data contents in the Settings-Applications-All-Market menu, then restarted so that the Market would show in all its glory. I did try using X-plore, but it could not find the com.* files you mentioned - but the Clear Data thing worked for me (luckily!).
Now have my favourite Apps (Evernote, Dropbox, Scholarley, MX Video, Firefox, Dolphin HD) downloaded again and am getting things set up with the extra max space you have provided for Apps.
                      All works fine - thanks!
You are a star, Bob - thank you for bothering and thank you everyone else who can be bothered - people like you make the world a better place. You have made a fair tablet into a great tablet because I can now not worry about running out of operating space all the time.
Apart from having to use a Windows PC to do the flashing, all is good. Thanks!

I am sure Bob will agree it is great to get such positive feedback from users, and it
Is all about making things as easy as possible for people and credit to Bob and all the other rom cookers for covering this so well in there tutorials and this is only the begining
as the site has only been up and running for a few weeks and there will be more to come. We are building a great community thanks to you guys!

So spread the word and thankyou

                          Flash rk29 tablets from Linux

If you want to use Linux take a look at some scripts I wrote for flasging rk29 tablets using Linux:

                          I also don't like using WindowZ !

Help with finding 4 folders to reset Market

                            Hi
Sorry if this is a bit basic - but I'm having problems finding the 4 folders mentioned earlier in this post which need to be deleted to reset the Market.
I have the appropriate root File explorer app to find them - but I need to be pointed in the direction of exactly where they are.
                            Many thanks

Look in \data\data. (The adb command referred to the locations, but that code can be intimidating to anyone unfamiliar with using adb via the command line).

                                cannot load drivers

i installed Finless Bob"s firmware version 1.1 a little over a month ago with no problems. now I try to update to version 1.3 and I cannot load drivers. tablet flashes new screen, I'm able to get on the market but SD card is not recognized. when i try to install drivers the wizard says that it cannot find software. i repeated all steps many times but had the same result each time. any help would be greatly appreciated.
