OK solved the keyboard issue by installing the stock keyboard from the sd card. Will update first post with download and details.

Cube do keep a basic change log but it looses something in the translation. If you are on the original kernel as posted yesterday I'd recommend updating just the kernel.

Just got my U30GT Mini 1.04 JB and disapointed.

Hi everyone,

I received yesterday my U30GT Mini for a young girl as Xmas present.
But I'm very disapointed by the stock firmware and lots of annoyances like "android.process.acore" bugs coming out each time the keyboards pop up or when trying to change language settings.
The french language is not good, and the keyboard attached is not even AZERTY.

Of course I've tried the stock reset with no success.
I'm on the way to try an alternative firmware, and wonder if I can flash your 1.05 based firmware from my stock 1.04.
Can I flash it ?
Will I have a good french localisation with AZERTY keyboard ?

Hi,
if I can answer, so surely flash can do. ROM contains all things needed for installation.
If I can recommend, so reinstalling custom ROM is the best you can do.
Basic ROM on my tablet survived one day .

With the stock ROM I had problems with frequent restart the tablet, often chopped. I just had a lot of problems. Custom ROM everything figured out. In addition, many Chinese applications removed.

Yes, 2GB for apps.

Currently in version 1.04. The tablet is wrapped as a gift for Christmas .
This ROM (1.05) I have downloaded and when I have a tablet in hands I will install this ROM.

I'm on the way to flash your custom ROM on my fresh device.
I hope to have french keyboard "AZERTY" Is there a step by step somewhere to achieve this ?
And I wonder if I should go to 1.05 straight or use the alrerady tested 1.04.

What is your advice. Are you confident with the new 1.05.

Other question : How do you go from 1.04 to 1.05 and so on, is there a kind of update process from SD card or is it a full wipe needed each upgrade ?

I will with the "AZERTY" keyboard I can not help but always it can deal with external applications.
Flash is simple, so you can first try 1.04 and after 1.05 and let what you find comfortable.
At each flash completely wipe data. Upgrade is via PC, not through CWM (SDcard).

Installing from 900supersport contains everything you need (kernel, boot, system ...), so even downgrade should not be a problem.

It's up to you which ROM you choose. This is the advantage of Android, you always have choices and changes

Because the tablet is for a young girl, sure I will not follow every upgrades if they require a full wipe each time.
So, I think I will go for the 1.05
