That is explainable with the wrong resolution with each of the boot graphics. What is your actual screen resolution. We will have to update them.

      It is advertised as 1280x800.

      Specs: http://www.merimobiles.com/pipo-u1-p...p/meri7204.htm

Good price too btw, it's where I got mine.

Ok. I've spent most of the day reloading my Linux box due to a crash.

I'm going to check the parameter file and fix that.

I'm still checking on the boot screens.

Sounds painful. I finally got my titanium backup streamlined. I have about 25 apk's that get loaded as well as google account settings and wifi settings so I don't have to keep loading them.

When I load a rom you've made, I choose the cwm recovery for recovery, and then when it's done flashing and dumps me to cwm, I reboot, go into android, copy the zip from microsd to internal sd, reboot to recovery with the reboot app built into the rom, flash the zip, and then I have a decent working environment. After another reboot, I restore the big package with the rest of my apps. I tried making a zip out of the big package, but it didn't seem to restore properly when flashing from cwm. Best to keep it small I think.

I noticed after reloading a few times, that when I went back to your 'inbetween 1.0 and 1.1" rom, that very quickly it shows your badge logo with 4.2.2 text at the bottom.

I am downloading the firmware again and starting over. I lost my working folder with all the changes. It might be tomorrow before I can post an update. Stay tuned.

No problem. I'm off on fridays, so I should have some time to spend with it.

I retraced my steps from the beginning and almost have it done. In the morning ill recalculate the parameters and upload again.

If the boot screens are still goofy, I'll be happy to take them out.

OK, I started from scratch last night and made a whole new ROM.

This time using the stock recovery instead of CWM. You have parameter files with 2 (default), 4, 6 or 8 gig user app space.

I used the same screen graphics this time, so if there is a problem...let me know. I can resize them and try again...maybe there is a slight variation on what the specs say and the actual screen resolution. If the bootanimation is too big, it does strange things. There are apps that you can download that will show the actual screen resolution on your tablet.

We might have to work on Google Play Store fixes a bit. But we can try this and see.

                      Grabbed an app:

                      Screen resolution 1280x746
                      scale 1.13
                      ppi 180

Yep, that may be the culprit. The screens are 1280x800...specs writers tend to round up instead of giving the EXACT number because it looks better...but us DEV's bang our heads if we don't have the tablet to test on and see what the REAL numbers are.

I didn't brand the kernel on this one, so you should see the stock logo at first. This problems might appear on the 2nd and 3rd splash screens you see.

No problem, I should have done that to start with. Does this have the framework jar fix?

No, I have not provided that yet on any of my ROM's. It's one of those things that I've wanted to learn, but I haven't quite gotten there yet. Your's might be my first go at it.

Flashed without problems. 1st Splash screen is still messed up (you figured so), 2nd is still like the earlier pic

                              Bluetooth works

                              storage worked at 2 gig

                              restoring my apps now

Looks like you have a good baseline
