That's just beyond impressive. No worries on the hole for the button, I can add it once I get it back.

Real OTG port added
OK so some careful planning and soldering and I have patched your rear micro USB port to work like an OTG port. Before this it was ONLY a power port as the data lines were not connected. Now it works like an OTG port so you will get 2 things from it
1) You will be able to flash ROMs and unbrick
2) You can now connect to a PC and the internal (and external if added) SDCard will be seen by your PC as a removable drive thus allowing you to copy over files to the stick.
Before this patch you had NO WAY to do that!
Now something to be aware of. This board has a reset button that will put the stick into flash mode. However it is not accessible with the case on.
If you like I can cut a small hole in the case so you can access the button?
If you don't want me to do that then you have to take the case apart and if you do PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL with the wires I soldered on as they can be easily knocked off.
Let me know.

Excellent!! 1.7A works for me. My bud won't be trying to OC it at all i would think. He is just going to be happy that it will be fullscreen and working.
Thanks again for all the assitance. I might seek your guidance with my MK809II's when they arrive if I get stuck again.

Come to think of it, it was the MK802III firmware that was the one that was recognized as a valid firmware when I was using finless 1.4

No link to a stock firmware from dx.com. It did have wifi and bluetooth, and the way the chipset is, I think it may actually be an MK802III, hiding in an 809 box

OK the stock ROM from here:
Boots but wifi does not work. So for sure this is NOT a real MK809!!!!
Is there a stock ROM download from the place you bought this?
Also do you know if this unit is suppose to have Bluetooth?
I cant read the writing on the wifi chip so it's a guess game right now..

You sir, are the man! That works. What is the possibility of rooting it? I need to get Full!Screen on it so XBMC runs at the full resolution.

BINGO!!!!!
I just soldered data wires to the pads and I am now flashing the stock ROM from the MK809 web site.
I do not think I have good enough equipment to solder on a micro USB port. But what I will do is leave 2 data wires soldered on so if ever you need to unbrick you can connect to those wires with a cut off USB cord. You will also need the regular USB cord to power the unit.
Now to see if the ROM will work on this or not! But it is unbricked now.

I'm getting my buddy to flip me the link to the exact model he ordered, and will post it here. I'm also worried about the 2 MK809II that i ordered from the same site. With luck, they use a different supplier for those.

By the way, who ever made this clone is an IDIOT!
Leaving no way to recovery from a brick is totally stupid!!
Not sure where you bought this or where it is from but people need to be warned to NOT BUY THIS JUNK!

Another ODD thing about this stick is it will NOT power up unless it is connected to HDMI. Very weird.
OK so first I will temporarily solder a cable to the pads of the OTG port and see if I can get a ROM flashed.
Later I will see if I can add a real OTG port for you. The reason is, if it ever bricks again (which sometimes can happen to these when you unplug them) they you will be stuck again!
Stay tuned.
