I'm not exactly sure what you mean there? I can't connect it to any of my computers via USB. None of them recognize it. Please explain your question.

Neomode, I think you might be right there. And that might be the reason I can't connect it to USB, look at the first pic I have. There are solder pads for a microUSB port on the side like the MK802IIIS, just no actual port.

  • Help me identify this stick... FAKE MK809 that is NOT PC flashable!

The picture says it all. A buddy ordered what was supposed to be a MK809 from dx.com. He gave it to me to root and set up XBMC on it. I tried a few firmwares that always got to 25% installed, then the (!) droid popped up. I tried for a few days to get my computer to recognize the stick via usb so I could flash it, but it never gets detected. I was finally able to get finless 1.4 on there via the sdcard, only to see that the wifi and bluetooth no longer work (yeah, bluetooth worked before, which already leads me to think this wasn't a MK809).

Now, I've opened the case and I find the stick in the attached images. There is a momentary switch on the side, which I assume is the recovery mode switch as if I reboot the stick while holding that, instead of the in4dealz splash screen, I get the 2 penguins, then the droid install animation immediately followed by the (!) droid.

I've tried shorting pins 6&7 to get it to flash recovery, and on the odd attempt I get nothing but a black screen which I assume is correct from what I've read, but still the computer never recognizes it on the USB. No bing, no bong, no changes in Device Manage, nothing.

So I need to suss out exactly what stick this is and get the firmware on there to start from square one again. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
