Yes i tried that. I get audio via spdif pass through only and its not 5.1 audio like the source.. When I get time I'll figure out how to provide a log.

Did you enable 'HDMI Bitstreaming' in Android - Settings?
Please try to provide a log when you try to play music.

Impressed, loaded my o/c Kernel and no problems as of yet. Just getting started, impressed truly by what I saw upon boot. My Firefly seems to really like what is happening.

    Thanks---cappybob

But maybe that's due to my 65+ games not yet restored lol.
Anyway, no more sound issues for me, like on 1.5 version.
Going into sleep mode doesn't reboot anymore.
Maybe it's a placebo, but the rom feels much smoother than before.
Will test for a few more days and report my other impressions.
    Thanks again for quality work!
Luckily there is more than enough space for game data, don't think so many games can fit on stock 2GB userdata.

I hope all the sound issues are fixed, but if anyone encounters more sound issues, please provide a log so it can be send to the manufacturer and get fixed.
    Here are instructions - http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...-get-a-logfile

Koying(SPMC) is now also testing HD Audio, so in future HD Audio on SPMC on RK3288 devices might be a possibility.

Will also try to make my first app to add extra features to the ROM that users can easily change eg.
    - advancedsettings cache for SPMC
    - MXPlayer AC3/DTS Codec
    - Solo Launcher Tabs/Folders, Layouts - Maybe someone can share theirs after adding tabs for video/audio/settings etc and creating a backup in Solo Launcher and share
the backup of the 2 files in /sdcard/SoloLauncher
    - Bootanimation changer
    - Buildprop changer for people with 720p displays so screen is not stretched too big.
But will take some time to learn and create.

In a few days will get Lollipop support and Windows 10 is also on the way, so some exiting things for RK3288 TV Boxes.
I didn't create any Linux ROM for this as it takes too much work and there still isn't any hardware accelerated video working, if it gets released by user mac_L1 then I will look at it again. But can combine my v1.5 ROM with this one if anyone want to dual-boot.

I am enjoying 1.5 on my Firefly, GREAT addition for my Samsung smart. Will be installing v1.6, have one uestion (sorry no backward p, wife educated me with glass of water). The 8.1 drivers, is there a change here, for I am using windows 10 IoT and have found no difficulties yet with the existing windows 7 tools.
    I don't think so.
I think it is for 64-bit Windows 8.1 users.
I also just use the normal drivers and everything works fine but haven't tested on Windows 10 yet.

You can use the kernel/resource.img from the latest Firefly ROM from April 2015 and it should work.
But I can compile a new kernel too if it doesn't work.

i have put my hph box away and went back to the matricom gbox q (with a custom rom) as it works best on my TV. For some reason i have audo issues with hph and my set up on every rom i have tried so far. I will give this rom a try later today hopefully it works. Not to mention the lack of number keys on the remote, makes it impossible to map any dedicated playback buttons on my harmony remote.

BTW, how do we flash this single img file?
Does AndroidTool supports it, or is there some other method?
In second tab of AndroidTool(Upgrade Firmware)
    - 'Firmware' - To select single image file
    - 'Upgrade' - To flash the firmware

Leave plugged in to PC 3-5 minutes after flashing to
    - Erase 'data', 'cache' &
    - Install Apps
Then unplug and connect to TV/Monitor

    After Boot
    - Select Solo Launcher
    - Turn on wifi/Ethernet
    - Use TW to root
    - Install framework for Xposed Modules & activate modules
    - In Terminal app type
    'su'
    cd /system/bin
    sh customer
    - Restart again
Now Solo Launcher icons at the bottom will be sorted and icons on homescreen removed
SPMC will now also cache to RAM for better streaming to help with buffering
MXPlayer will now also pick up 3rd party Codec to enable DTS
    - In MXPlayer also enable RGB 32 bit Color(not sure if it makes a difference)

File name, same as for v1.5 ROM - HPHv1.6

Didn't put a password, because I wanted to see who first downloads the ROM and ask for password
