Does anyone know of a stick that plays 1080p mkv files 100% fluently? If they even exist? The T428 is my first stick, I would like to stick with it, no pony intended :-!

I buy a 908 and its really frustrating because i have a Raspberry Pi with XBMC running at 700mhz/512ram and play 1080p like a pro and cost me half the price of mk908. The problem its not hw plsssss.

      Lol

My 908 makes my drawer look FANCY!

Not worth the time or money to return it either.

The dual core chip models work though. I'd buy a Neo X5 or Imito MX1 again. I wouldn't buy the quad core rock chip sticks right now.

I agree, Alittle upsetting too. Why isnt it listed on the sites and technical information that there is video playback and software problems. I wound have never bought it if I knew. I heard excuse after excuse about taking it back. Oh wait for their software release,or this update,or switch the power adapter,or it doesnt have enough volts/amps on the one I switched with.... Upsetting to say the least.
And when you come on here to vent your flustrations and look for a fix and mention this your a troll.
Go look at the ratings and customer reviews...You know that its set up, No way in hell this is perfect and has flaws on many aspects of the hardware in the stick. And how the reviews kinda adress problems with fixes like oh its wonderful and works when you do this that and this...lmao ...

I sorta gave up its been 2 months and nothing yet for what should be a simple fix for video playback for the engineers...If it can go smooth with the mouse moving it can be FIXED.

            Ha.

Just a nod to your YouTube. A word I had to lookup.

I thought it fit pretty well in the context.

Glad to see you around and smiling Bob!

I'm not stressing my stick too much. It's $100 worth of fun just to fiddle with. Less stress than other hobbies.

              how about a workaround

I am thinking of an app to automaticaly move the mouse constantly and also make the pointer a 1 black pixel that can oscilate it on the bottom of the screen while plying a video.
I am not a programmer I just have some ideeas. perhaps one of you who is a programer could give it a try.

I started this thread awhile back. I can´t program either but I wish someone would.

Give this a try. It's basically an app that puts an overlay black pixel in the screen and moves it around.

Just download directly from your device and install, or copy to a SD card and install. Open the App hit Start and then Hide. If you pay attention you will see the pixel floating around (not intrusive once you play video). To stop hit stop.

I just finished watching an episode of planet earth @ 720p streamed over SMB (using a USB ethernet adapter) on my MK908... It seemed MUCH improved since the last time I tried... hopefully it's not psycological.

Wow! This one really does work (unless I'm as delusional as you. ). I have tested with all my stuttery reference videos (both local and YouTube) and running this app has the same effect on video smoothness as moving the mouse cursor constantly around. A small side effect is that at times the mouse itself feels slightly sluggish and jumpy.

Congratulations! I can live with this app until a new SDK2.0 kernel gets released.

It seems to be woking on CX-919 as well, or at least much less noticable ...

Much less noticeable, that indeed. Now that I have been able to really concentrate on watching the videos without having to divide my attention between the screen and the mouse, I can see that some of the micro-jitter is still present, especially on long panning shots. It is, however, much less noticeable and some of it may even be compression artifacts. I guess this is as good as it's gonna get without an updated kernel and video drivers.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the results. For the first time with this device (T428) I can really immerse myself into watching the videos instead of having to worry about the technical presentation.

                              Mycursoroverlay102.apk

Is it possible to lower the opacity on the dot or make it transparent? If not would positioning the dot at the corner of the display be possible?

Hmm, yes. Also a status indicator would be a nice touch (within the app itself or on the task bar).
