having a bit of an issue. i flashed the openelec linked here 6.0.1e. installed fine, installed the amber skin. now when it boots, it either gets stuck on the kodi isengard splash screen, or the amber background loads but there are no menus.

update: a few reboots seemed to fix it. odd!

Do You know if these builds work with the two old (beginning of 2015) S812 Beelink devices S82 Plus (2/16 GB) and/or MXIII Plus (2/8 GB), both of them with KK rom and FAST Ethernet and Ap6335 WiFi chip?
Or, where else I have to look for?
    Thanks for your interest!
Btw, I owe a MxIII Plus, but explaining in depth I think is better!

Just download the zip file given on the first page then extract , put the 3 files on your microSD . Then do the toothpick install and your good to go.

Hey guys forgive my newbness. I have the 2g tronsmart box. If I flash openelec on it, is reverting back to Android ad simple as putting the factory firmware on a micro SD and rebooting with the toothpick?

Will try and report back the soonest! Thanks for your time and good work-time!
Edit: everything back to normal! Yeahhhh! As with Kszaq builds BT pairing but not connecting, even if devices exchange pairing codes!
    More than happy till here!
    Thanks for your work, Wilro!

    Howdy Folks,

Sorry my internet connection has been more pathetic than normal - I managed to upload build 6.0.1e, which reverts a few problem patches - I have dropped the backport patches for now, as they are causing more problems than I have time to address, I have included a few patches from kszaq's kernel, including a fix for bluetooth (as limited as it is in OE) - I'm fairly busy with (paying) work at the moment, so it's getting the lion share of my time - There are some fairly big updates in the pipeline which I will pump out as soon as they are mature enough in my test environment...

    Hi Wilro and everyone!

I just wanted to register and say thank you I've recently got a MX111-g 2gb with LP rom as standard.

It refused to consistently playback using amlogic hardware acceleration. Sometimes using am, other times ff-mpeg.

After faffing around with a KK rom, and some root workarounds by first running SMPC to get the permissions, then kodi 15.2 combined, I did get it to work as intended. Although after a restart, it needs to be faffed with again. So after getting annoyed with that, I went on the hunt for a decently openelec rom.

Then I managed to find this forum post! And so glad I have! Active development as well, which is amazing. I installed 6.0.1d using the toothpick and sdcard method. I didn't use dual boot, as I just wanted OE and no android....

My little Mx3 is night and day better for using Wilro's openelec build. Its fast, and stable. Connected to my WIFI first time, and within minutes I had it setup just how I like it with apps, FTP sources etc.

I cant tell you how chuffed to bits I am. Keep up the great work

I will remove them from my next build (Unfortunately, quite a few of the addon's in the repo don't work correctly on this box, which is why I included the ones that I know are broken - In theory, disabling the included ones should have stopped them from conflicting with any other addons - As this doesn't appear to be the case, I'll remove them (I personally have no use for any of them with my normal setup

hi wilro, unfortunately the included pvr add-ons went into a loop where they could not be disabled or deleted. thank you for your build.

    Hi clarkss12,

I am kinda stuck between a rock & a hard place here - I know that *some* plugins work better when compiled into the system, & I know that some certainly don't work *unless* I compile/include them in the base build (basically all the binary plugins). My real problem was that when I included them all (ala kerber's builds), that I saw regressions in the overall functioning of the device (despite "disabling" all of them), which is what I'm trying to avoid here.

I can build/include the plugins that are known to be problematic on the MX3G (the mythTV & simple are 2 that I've been advised don't work well, which is why I include them by default) - My concern is if they cause problems while disabled (Which I haven't seen personally), then I have a much larger problem.

I can build the addons into zip files for those who have problems with the ones in the repo's, but this is pretty much a blind effort, as in most cases I can't even test what I'm building, let alone sort out any problems with them.

The first step is to identify any addon's that are problematic, & as long as the source code for them is available, try doing a build against my OE tree to see if that fixes them.

mr clarkss12, please don't jump to conclusion or make accusations which are simply untrue. the entire point of post was to inform the DEVELOPER that there is a bug which prevents the add-on from being deleted. as stated above, ALL kodi PVR add-ons are available via the openelec repository, to randomly select 2 pvr add-ons to include with the base installation is unnecessary. Whether the default install includes 2 PVR add-ons of Wilro's choosing or ZERO PVR add-ons has no impact on determination on what you or anyone needs or uses whatsoever when whatever you or I need is available via repository. the only person being inconsiderate is you.
