I'll do more testing but you should be able to replicate the inability to delete the PVR add-on described above. Considering that the Openelec add-on repository includes all the PVR add-ons, it would be preferable for the default to be no PVR add-on installed and let the end user choose which PVR add-on(s) they wish to install to reduce unnecessary conflicts.
    Hi silicon,

I will remove them from my next build (Unfortunately, quite a few of the addon's in the repo don't work correctly on this box, which is why I included the ones that I know are broken - In theory, disabling the included ones should have stopped them from conflicting with any other addons - As this doesn't appear to be the case, I'll remove them (I personally have no use for any of them with my normal setup

You are not the only person that uses the PVR add-ons, I just select the one I wish to use and not worry about the others. For you to make a determination on what everyone else need or uses, is very inconsiderate.

Yes, I actually do this myself (4 boxes, central database) - It's very useful to keep track of what you're watching/listening to (eg. I start watching a movie in the lounge, stop playback, go to bedroom & resume watching - Unfortunately, it doesn't really help with addons, which are installed individually on each box's internal storage (my boxes are all different amlogic models, with a few PC's/tablets, so I'd expect this behaviour) - The only caveat is that you need to run the same version of kodi on all boxes, as the database schema changes with each major release (This is why I can only minimally test kodi 16 atm, as all my other boxes run kodi 15) - While mysql is helpful with large libraries (I have ~50k music/pictures/movies), I doubt I'd bother with it if I didn't have to share the library with more than one device.

I wouldn't recommend this, however, to do so you'll need to extract the initramfs from the kernel.img, & edit either the "platform_init" or the "init" file to change what is defined/mounted as the "data" partition.
You'd probably get better results using a faster sdcard or using the internal nand on the device (I find the usb port speed on these boxes pretty "underwhelming"

It may be possible to override the default kodi config file to point just the "addons" folder to a USB attached device (actually, this could also be achieved, in theory by just symlinking the "addons" folder to a path on a USB drive)

Unfortunately the rpi has a more complete/understood implementation of cec than other amlogic devices. The last patch was supposed to enable the ability to power on/off avr devices, but it seems to cause more harm than good, so we will have to wait & see. I am limited in what I can build/test - I don't have an avr nor anything other than very minimal cec support in my TV. I will include patches from upstream aimed at expanding these capabilities, but apart from ensuring it doesn't negatively impact my own setup, I am very much dependant on other's feedback as to any good/bad side effects it has on their devices

As far as the 5sec step option, I believe that is implemented in kodi 16 - I will include it if it's available for the current stable builds.

OK, so just to confirm, build 6.0.1a & 6.0.1.1b *don't* have this blanking problem? This narrows down the problem to one specific patch that is present in 6.0.1d & the test build (They will be removed from my next build
The test build is bound to have problems, as it is still under heavy development, & as stated, I can only do minimal testing of it until I can upgrade all my devices to kodi 16 (I have a central database that all my devices share, which is incompatible with kodi 16). This is more of a peak at what's coming with the next version of OE/Kodi.

Have the same with my denon- there is no problem with rpi but it looks like all android boxes do the same to most avr.

I know this isn't the thread for it per se. But is there a version of android tv that I could try for this box? Just curious how it performs

    --update_package = / sdcard / OpenELEC-MX3G.arm-6.0.0.2f.zip
    --wipe_data
    --wipe_cache
    --wipe_media

so the box is reset and as good as new...

I'm not seeing these problems here - If 6.0.1a build doesn't exhibit these problems, then it's going to be related to the CEC updates and/or the new backported drivers. Have you tried disabling the hdmi-cec functions (under my addons, the wetek hdmi addon can enable/disable it fully). Do you have an avr device connected? Do you have any usb devices (apart from storage) attached to the device? Are you using a 4k capable TV? (I have no way of testing any of these at the moment Is your device a genuine MX3-G/Tronsmart MX3+? (There appear to be a lot of devices cropping up with almost identical specs, but have a few incompatibilities unfortunately)

    **** Openelec 7.0 test build ****

    Howdy Folks,

I have just uploaded a test build based on the current Openelec development branch, available HERE

    * CLEAN INSTALL ONLY (I tried restoring my OE6 config, but it puts kodi in an endless loop)
    * Using kodi 16.0rc3
    * Enabled *most* backport drivers (some realtek USB devices won't compile)
    * NOT fully optimised yet (I haven't ported most of the kodi patches to 16 yet)
    * INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

I've installed this on its own sdcard, & appears to work quite well - As the mysql database schema has changed for this new version, I have only done limited testing thus far (I will probably port kodi 15.2 to this branch, so that I can keep compatibility with my kodi 15 devices & be able to do more in depth testing

    Cheers!
