NEW - EZ root ZIP for all S95 devices.

Hey folks.... been a while aye?

So thanks to Trebor for testing my EZ root ZIP I made for the Minix U1, this also work on all the Tronsmart S95 devices.

No ADB required which is difficult for many to setup and get the drivers installed!

Trust I will do more work with the S95 boxes like ROMS!

This is a full proper root including fixing processes!
When you run the SU app for the first time you it will not have to update the SU binary which is unlike other root tools out there for the S905.

On with the show.....


Download the link below.

Unzip the file and put the 3 files on a SDcard.
ezroot.zip
recovery.img
factory_update_param.aml

Insert the SDcard into your Tronsmart S95
Unplug the power, wait 3 seconds and plug it back in.

Now this is the important part. We need to boot the recovery you put on SDcard not the internal recovery or the ezroot.zip will fail signature.

Go to "My Apps" and run "Update & Backup".
Click on "Local Update" and click on "Select". It should find ezroot.zip on your SDcard.
Select that and proceed.

The S95 will reboot and install the update and your done!

Have just rooted using your EZ root Zip. Trying it now. Maybe it should be called Super-EZ root Zip, because it certainly is super easy.
Thanks also to Trebor for volunteering to use his S95 as a proving ground, for rooting this box with your zip.
The S95, Meta in my case, has been a decent OBE and offers good potential. Having you involved will squeeze all the potential from the S95.

This Super-Ez root will also work for the K1 plus 905 chipset device
Copy to SD card Hold reset and power on, will boot from SD card.
Sit back relax and as the buzzword is of present times: Profit.

I have just tried this new method it just gives me a error "Adb.exe" not found, does it have to install any driver?

The kodi version in K1 plus box doesn't allow to install some addons....and I cannot reinstall kodi (installation fails). Root might help? how?

I had no trouble with this on the Tronsmart Vega S95 Meta. Start with a freshly formatted FAT32 card. When I followed the steps below, it worked without further effort.
From Finless...NOTE:I bolded some important steps and added a note.

Funny but I do not use adb.exe in my EZ root so that error sounds like he is using the other root method not my EZ root.zip!

Thank you in advance for providing the root...I am awaiting delivery of my s95 meta.
This is my first android, so your instructions sound nice and easy.

I have a few newbie questions though......

Once I have rooted it, will I still be able to do the OTA update from tronsmart?
Ifso will that remove the root?
Does a root / your root, just provide root access ( like an ios jailbreak ) ?
Or does it install a custom android os?

Hi & Welcome to freaktab.

As you may have noticed im not Bob but I can answer you questions.

1.Once your rooted YES you will still get the OTA update from tronsmart, (Iv got the telos Rooted & got an OTA today all went fine.)

2.No the OTA update will NOT remove root.

3.Yes it just provides you root access ( like an ios jailbreak )

4.it just installs root giving you access to system files.

Thank you for the clear answers....great.

Once an OTA update has been installed, if for some reason a full hard reset is required , I assume the original OS is then installed ? .... is this correct ?....
Will this remove the root ?

Once the OTA update is installed, is there a way to write/ burn in the complete OS / and software as the hard reset version ? ... ie so when you do another hard rest /restore, the newer updated version is installed, rather than the original version that the unit was shipped with. ? ( ifso is there also a way to retain the root ? )
